Hello guys! This is my first post in the community (and I am also new here in Hive 😄). Anyway, this is my fan art of a scene from Kevin Kwans’ book, Crazy Rich Asians. Actually, his books are my source of entertainment in the past lockdown situation. I love how he exaggerates the drama of these wealthy people especially the insane spending spree his characters are making!
I have to say, since I finished reading the trilogy, my perspective of wealthy people have changed. Also, amidst of these craziness, I really love how poised, kind and down-to-earth Astrid Leong is. She is my favorite character in the series. I mean, come on, who wouldn’t love her? (And Gemma Chan played her in the movie, AND SHE IS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! I can’t help but to think that somehow she is the real Astrid.)
This fan art of mine is Astrid sitting comfortably in her living room (I put a reference text below where this scenario happened in Book 3: Rich People Problems. AND DISCLAIMER, I didn't follow Gemma Chan's features. The "Astrid" here comes from my own perspective and my idea about her face. I hope it makes sense. 😅) And while reading that paragraph, I somehow feel the strong urge to draw her. And I hope I gave justice to it. And I went for digital art because I found it easier to select more available colors than my traditional materials can give. :)
