There’s nothing like a weekend get-away with some good friends to freshen up one’s outlook on life. And this one came at the change of the seasons, which is always a nice opportunity for a reset.
We have had some great walks, a fun boat ride, some wonderful meals, and lots of talking and laughter.
The next two pictures are kind of funny. We went to a restaurant that borders some woods. They have placed large silhouettes of Sasquatch among the trees.
When you get close, you discover they are just two dimensional statues. Of course we had to clown around.
This is a beautiful area called Eagle River, in the state of Wisconsin, which is a neighboring state to my home state of Minnesota.
We have seen quite a lot of wildlife, including eagles, loons, kingfishers, and of course a lot of deer.
There’s a really nice three-mile loop for walking, so we have been getting plenty of exercise.
I grabbed a few nice photos of the lake at dusk when we were on the boat.
The last photo is the night we had a campfire. Because there had been some rain and the wood was damp, they decided to use some gasoline to help get the fire started. The observers stayed well back until the fire was safely burning.
