We are in the peak days of autumn color here in Minnesota. The brilliant autumn colors in the bright sun cause this exhilarating feeling to well up in me that I can’t explain. It happens to me every year. I feel like a leprechaun seeing a pot of gold! And I feel gloriously happy to be alive, and thrilled that I have eyes to see. What a miraculous thing!
Some years the leaves are brighter and more effusively stunning than others. I have to say, this year does not disappoint!
As I was driving to and from my activities and errands, sometimes I just had to stop my car along the side of the road to photograph a tree!
It was a perfect weekend day, as my weekend days often are. I went for a long walk around a reservoir where I captured some of these photos.
Then I met up with a friend to play pickleball.
After that, I had a very nice afternoon nap. Then my husband and I stepped out to the yard and our son took our picture, because it’s our 29th wedding anniversary.
Three years ago on this day I had foot surgery (on my wedding anniversary!) because I had broken my foot a few days before at the very place I went walking this morning. I visit the site regularly because it’s a beautiful place, and it always serves as a reminder to be careful and take good care of myself.
After the photo, hubby and I went for another walk. I love a day that’s full of physical activity!
It was dusk by then, and the sun was almost done illuminating the autumn leaves.
