Here comes the "SUN"...

There was a lot of “buzz” around our blockchain yesterday with the news hitting the ground that @justinsunsteemit has purchased Steemit. I was not really up to doing much yesterday so the timing was great because I spent my evening chilling on the couch listening to the AMA – which to be frank was more like an AMN (ask me nothing) and then the “witness and general public chat” hosted by @aggroed. As for the AMA, I must say that I think the best part was the liveliness of the comment thread lol – there was no shortage of Steem community presence, passion and opinion. Whilst there was a LOT left unanswered, I do think that the primary concern of a “token swap” was somewhat addressed… which is a monumental relief for all of us… *”for now”* lol. And then there was @abh12345’s *”QQQQ: JUSTIN, WILL YOU USE YOUR STAKE TO VOTE ON CONTENT OR FOR WITNESSES?”* - which appeared to have caused a furious copy and paste glitch in the comment feed as the community furiously insisted that it be answered lol. Well, it was and again another box of relief checked… for now. The AMA was short and not really to much of any point other than the fact that Ned mostly looked like a deer in headlights and Justin seemed somewhat unprepared for the tidal wave of unity and resoluteness that is the Steem community. As for the witness and community chat which followed immediately after – I have one word… WOW!!! It was probably the most positively determined and invigorating one I have listened in on EVER! The attendance alone was absolutely insane and I would love to know what the actual numbers were. There was SO MUCH to take away from it all! I resonated very strongly with the opinions of most – but especially that of @aggroed, @crimsonclad, @theycallmedan and a few others that saw both sides of the coin very clearly. It was also fantastic to hear from so many members of the “general Steem public” too. There was a definite unanimity in that “room” last night which was incredibly moving to observe. When we stand in unison like that – we are certainly a force to be reckoned with. – Goosies stuff I tell ya! In my opinion there are MANY positives that can come from this new chapter - and much like someone said last night, the marketing aspect of Steem is the one piece of our puzzle that has been missing for, well… ever! We have now been granted an instantaneous and “no mickey mouse” solution to that failing facet and it would be imprudent for us not to see and harness the benefits of it. Yes, there are many sides and angles of approach to what has transpired and I do think that each and every single one of them needs to be carefully deliberated and contemplated… but the reality is this – there is not a business person alive on earth (one with any common sense at any rate) that is going to invest in a project or venture with the intention of losing money and having it fail. This is a fact that stands on our side but could also prove to be a double edged sword… what I think is important now is that we ALL walk forward with a positive mindset and attitude, embracing the best of it all whilst being simultaneously vigilant. – and yes… you can function on both levels. I see it like this: Operating in the realm of business (which this is) you have to accept that tactical play is a part of the game and the fact of the matter is… you simply need to enjoy the intricacy of the footwork as the two sides dance in harmony, whilst simultaneously keeping your ear to the ground, ensuring that you don’t miss a beat and end up flat faced on the floor. If you are consistently prepared and able to remain one step ahead then you can enjoy ALL of it… even the challenging parts – because let’s face it… those are the moments in which we stand to learn the most anyway! Listening to that witness chat last night, I am beyond confident that as a community, ***we can and will*** handle anything that comes our way, so we may as well continue about our business – put efficacy into pending action and enjoy the ride!
