Sometimes life gets really stressful, but for me, eating a good meal already makes a big difference.

Earlier, I went to the market because tomorrow is my mother's birthday. I bought everything I need to cook for her special day. After shopping, I decided to eat first and take a picture of my food. But when I tried, I found out my gallery was already full! So I checked my phone and started scrolling. I was surprised to see how many pictures I already have, especially food photos. Almost every time I go out I take pictures before eating sometimes in restaurants, sometimes in small food stalls, or even homemade meals. I just love keeping those food memories.

Lately, I thought it’s time to post some of them on my blog and clear some space on my phone. I never had the chance to share them before but now I want to post a few and delete the rest. You know, one thing that makes me happy when I feel tired, stressed or have many problems is eating outside. Sometimes, I just go out, find a place to eat and enjoy my meal quietly. After that, when I go back home, I already feel better. That’s my simple way to relax and forget my worries for a while.

Whenever I go to the mall, like SM, I always look for restaurants I haven’t tried yet. It’s exciting to see what kind of food they serve and how they prepare it. I like discovering new flavors and comparing them with the ones I already know. These photos remind me of many simple but happy moments. Each one has a story where I was, who I was with, or what mood I was in that day.

Sometimes I order what looks good on the menu, or sometimes I ask for the best seller. But I don’t order if I know it’s too expensive because I’m also saving money. I just choose what I can afford. What matters to me is exploring the different tastes of food in every restaurant. Even if it’s a simple meal, as long as it’s delicious, I’m already happy.

My son Carlo and my husband also come with me when they don’t have work or school. We just have a little bonding time eat together and walk around the mall. Sometimes we buy something if we see what we like. It’s just a simple day, but for me, it means a lot because we get to be together even for a short time.

At home, when I cook, there’s always a vegetable dish. For example, if I fry fish, I pair it with sautéed vegetables and a little pork. Sometimes, if there’s no meat I just use Magic Sarap and it still tastes good. I really love eating vegetables. If I don’t eat them for a week I feel weak. I guess my body is already used to having vegetables. My favorite is sautéed string beans that’s always my top choice.

On Monday, we will harvest our chili. I told the owner of the restaurant where I ate last time about it. Her name is Vernie, and she said she will buy 2 kilos from me. When I go back there, I will bring her some chili. She is very kind, and sometimes she even gives me a discount. Next time, whatever vegetables we harvest from the farm, I will also sell them to her. She said she needs a lot of vegetables every day because she has three restaurant branches.

Food has always been a big part of my daily life from the meals I eat outside to the dishes I cook at home. Each one has a story and brings a little joy to my day. I’m thankful for every meal I have and for the simple moments shared with my family. Until my next post, I hope you also enjoy every bite and find happiness in the small things around you.
