Matsucon in Barquisimeto

Last weekend was quite busy. I attended the main event of Matsucon. This was its seventh edition, and the venue was the terrace of the Twilight City Shopping Center, the current home of the Matsucon boys. It was two intense days for fans of the city's geek culture.
Saturday the 20th and Sunday the 21st were intense days. Each day, the event started at approximately 10:00 a.m. and ended at 6:00 p.m. I attended both days and arrived around 11:00 a.m., both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday was a little more relaxed, with good attendance, but it was the Sunday that many cosplayers had promised to attend.
This is the main event of Matsucon. They organize different events and activities throughout the year, most with free admission. Since this is the main, general event, access is by purchasing tickets.
El fin de semana pasado fue bastante ajetreado. Asistí al evento principal de Matsucon. Esta fue su séptima edición, y el lugar fue la terraza del Centro Comercial Ciudad Crepuscular, sede actual de los chicos de Matsucon. Fueron dos días intensos para los fanáticos de la cultura geek de la ciudad.
El sábado 20 y el domingo 21 fueron días intensos. Cada día, el evento comenzaba aproximadamente a las 10:00 a. m. y terminaba a las 6:00 p. m. Asistí ambos días y llegué sobre las 11:00 a. m., tanto el sábado como el domingo. El sábado fue un poco más relajado, con buena asistencia, pero era el domingo que muchos cosplayers habían prometido asistir.
Este es el evento principal de Matsucon. Organizan diferentes eventos y actividades a lo largo del año, la mayoría con entrada gratuita. Este al ser el evento principal y general, el acceso es comprando entradas.

----           ----- At the back of the large hall, there was a small stage where the activities planned for the two days took place. There was a spicy ramen competition and a trivia contest about the geek world. There were also several musical performances by guest singers and dance groups. Performances were held throughout both days. For those who enjoy karaoke, a space was set up in the hallway for participants to have fun. There was also a game and virtual reality area. The space was quite spacious, and participants were able to enjoy the different activities. ---- > Al fondo del gran salón había una pequeña tarima donde se llevaron a cabo las actividades programadas para los dos días. Hubo una competencia de ramen picante y un concurso de preguntas y respuestas sobre el mundo geek. También se realizaron varias actuaciones musicales a cargo de cantantes invitados y grupos de baile. Hubo presentaciones durante ambos días. > Para quienes disfrutan del karaoke, se instaló un espacio en el pasillo para que los participantes se divirtieran. También había una zona de juegos y realidad virtual. On Saturday, there was a cosplay performance, although I had to leave early because I had to go to the fitness event I mentioned in the previous post. However, I took quite a few photos of cosplayers that Saturday.
On Sunday, the most anticipated event was the Cosplay Catwalk. That day, the attendance of cosplayers was even higher. Although it was scheduled to end early, there was a chance more cosplayers would arrive and we could close with the parade.
I took a ton of photos both days. I had to make a selection for the post, and there are too many. No wonder I ended up quite tired that day after taking so many photos.
Thus concluded the seventh edition of Matsaucon. Now we're waiting for next year's event, but the organizers surely have more activities planned for the rest of the year. I'm still undecided about cosplaying. It requires investing money, and I can't find a sponsor. It's harder for men to find sponsors for cosplay.

El sábado hubo un perfomance cosplay, aunque tuve que irme antes, ya que tenía que ir al evento de fitness que mencioné en la publicación anterior. Sin embargo, tomé bastantes fotos de cosplayers ese sábado.
El domingo, el evento más esperado fue la Pasarela Cosplay. Ese día, la asistencia de cosplayers fue aún mayor. Aunque estaba programado para terminar temprano, aunque había posibilidades de que llegaran más cosplayers y para cerrar con el desfile.
Ambos días tomé muchísimas fotos. Tuve que hacer una selección para la publicación, y son demasiadas. No me extraña que terminara bastante cansado ese día después de tomar tantas fotos.
Así concluyó la séptima edición de la Matsaucon. Ahora esperamos al evento del próximo año, pero los organizadores seguramente tengan más actividades planeadas para el resto del año. Todavía no me decido a hacer cosplay. Requiere invertir dinero y no consigo encontrar patrocinador. Es más difícil para los hombres encontrar patrocinador para cosplay.
