New Life | Film Review

John Rosman's feature debut is a good idea that takes advantage of the resources available to make the story gripping. I had wanted to see it for a long time. Not being a mainstream film, it may be hard to get hold of depending on the country you live in. The filmmaker starts off well. It's not a big budget film, probably most of the money was spent on special effects and makeup, but the story is good and that's good enough. As with many first feature films, it is a good example of saving resources and being creative in making some scenes that needed more technical deployment, but they are easily achieved and at the same time achieve the desired effect or impact. The story is one of terror, but it is the terror that in the wake of recent events that have affected the whole world, becomes more real and closer. Before 2020 maybe this story could seem like science fiction, but today it is something that can become a reality. For this reason, the conflict of the film may be more terrifying. In recent times we have seen how things that we only see in movies to pass the time, are becoming palpable things that affect us. Although I leave you with the trailer, I recommend that you don't watch it. There are small scenes in the trailer that may have major plot spoilers and it's a movie you'll enjoy more if you know absolutely nothing beyond the basic synopsis you can get from the various movie websites. No es una película de alto presupuesto, probablemente la mayor parte del dinero se gastó en efectos especiales y maquillaje, pero la historia es buena y eso es suficiente. > Como ocurre con muchos primeros largometrajes, es un buen ejemplo de ahorro de recursos y de creatividad para realizar algunas escenas que necesitaban un mayor despliegue técnico, pero que se consiguen con facilidad y al mismo tiempo logran el efecto o impacto deseado. > La historia es de terror, pero es el terror que a raíz de los últimos acontecimientos que han afectado al mundo entero, se hace más real y cercano. Antes de 2020 tal vez esta historia podría parecernos ciencia ficción, pero hoy es algo que puede convertirse en realidad. Por eso, el conflicto de la película puede ser más terrorífico. En los últimos tiempos hemos visto cómo cosas que sólo vemos en las películas para pasar el rato, se están convirtiendo en cosas palpables que nos afectan. > Aunque les dejo el trailer, recomiendo que no lo veas. Hay pequeñas escenas en el trailer que pueden tener grandes spoilers de la trama y es una película que disfrutarás más si no sabes absolutamente nada, más allá de la sinopsis básica que puedes conseguir en las diferentes webs de cine. Tampoco te voy a dar ningún spoiler ni te voy a contar de qué va todo el problema.

A young woman who just wants to start a new life with her partner and a secret service agent who is assigned the mission to find and catch the young woman. That's all you need to know about the story. The lives of these two strangers, each with their own problems, will intersect. One runs away, the other searches for her. The director doesn't give us all the cards all at once either, but rather slowly unleashes it, until the plot twist that shows us the mystery. Who is this young woman? What crime has she committed? What is she hiding? Why is she wanted by law enforcement? What looks like a cat-and-mouse thriller turns into a more global thriller with hints of horror. It also doesn't leave out the instrospection of the characters, their lives and the problems they have to face. This mission for the agent becomes very important, because of what she is going through in her personal life, it will help her to accept the fatality that she will have to live. Sonya Walger, the eternal Penny and Desmond's constant on Lost, is one of the main characters. I was happy to see the actress, who has not had much success after her participation in Lost. She plays the expert agent in charge of catching the fugitive. Her performance is correct without being dazzling. The other actress is Hayley Erin, of whom I have not seen any of her previous works and I found her quite convincing as a young woman who dreams of a new life that is increasingly difficult to achieve. I recommend you seek out the film and give it a chance. You won't regret it. It lasts as long as it needs to. It's a good story, without a blockbuster, but you don't need to, just let yourself be surprised by what it tells. Además, no deja de lado la instrospección de los personajes, sus vidas y los problemas a los que se tienen que enfrentar. Esta misión para la agente se vuelve muy importante, por lo que está pasando en su vida personal, le ayudará a aceptar la fatalidad que le tocará vivir. > Sonya Walger, la eterna Penny y constante de Desmond en Lost, es uno de los personajes principales. Me alegró ver a la actriz, que no ha tenido mucho éxito tras su participación en Lost. Interpreta a la experta agente encargada de atrapar al fugitivo. La otra actriz es Hayley Erin, de la que no he visto ninguno de sus trabajos anteriores y me ha parecido bastante convincente como una joven que sueña con una nueva vida que cada vez es más difícil de conseguir. > Recomiendo que busques la película y la des la oportunidad.
