At the time, I spoke very highly of The Terminal List, the action series from three years ago. Wow! How time flies. I liked the series so much that I recommended it at the time, and since it's an adaptation of the first novel, which has so far spawned seven published books, they have enough material for several seasons. It has taken them a while to return to this action-packed universe, but the surprise is that, once again, we find ourselves with the characters created by writer Jack Carr, but in the form of a prequel. Being new material, Dark Wolf is not an adaptation of any of the novels, and the writer is also part of the production team. If you wanted to see James Reece, that handsome, intelligent, super-strong soldier and killing machine, don't worry, you'll see him again, of course, although he doesn't cover the whole story, as this is a prequel focused on another important character from the first series: Ben Edwards. The former SEAL who ends up working for the CIA. At the time of writing this post, I've seen the first four episodes, and that's enough to recommend it. Here we delve into Ben's life, getting to know him more deeply, which will lead us to understand him and know why he does what he does in the main series. He is a man of principles and ideals who truly wants to impart justice, protect, and, above all, values loyalty. How ironic. Loyalty. Anyone who has seen The Terminal List knows that all of that goes down the drain. Why? What made Ben change? We will be shown that whole process, all his struggles, disappointments, failures, and pain, and we will see this man's transformation. No matter how many ideals you have, when life hits you, you end up giving up, because nothing matters anymore, because nothing you do is going to really change things. We are just pawns on a chessboard, and even though a pawn can kill a king, the game can start all over again. There is no hope. There will always be something more powerful pulling the strings than what they do. There are always other interests. Siempre habrá algo más poderoso moviendo los hilos de lo que ellos hacen. Siempre hay otros intereses. Es una batalla perdida desde el principio.

Action and lots of testosterone. This is a series for supermachos, the kind that makes you want to grab a gun, go out screaming, and empty all your bullets into the bad guys when you finish the episode. There's no room for cowards here. It's a series for tough guys. American propaganda? Well, yes, but what's the problem? All I care about is that it's a good story. Like the original The Terminal List, this series will receive negative reviews from all those who seem to hate heterosexual white men. All those progressives will say it's a sexist series about violent men, etc. Let them cry. The first one was well received by the public. These kinds of stories with a good dose of action are entertaining and have a large audience. This sequel builds on the success of the first one, and now I'm sure they're going to continue with the adaptation of the other novels. Taylor Kitsch is the lead actor in this production. I remember that after the disaster that was the movie John Carter, I thought his acting career was over. Although he continues to work in film, I think it is in television series and miniseries where the actor has found his niche. True Detective, Waco, Once Upon a Time in the West, and his work in this saga of The Terminal List confirm this. Series are what he does best, and here he plays the antihero necessary for this story. There is also a good cast that complements Kitsch's work. So far, Chris Pratt has only appeared in the first episode and the first half of the second, but I'm sure he'll be back in the final episodes, because everything that happens here, seven years before the original story, is connected. In this way, they want us to empathize with Ben, and even if we don't agree with what he does, we will understand his decisions. Highly recommended.
