A Weekend to Remember. A Mother's Story.

Being a working mom and a student at the same time is not easy. There are days when I feel very tired, but there are also days that remind me why I keep going. Last weekend was one of those days.

I had a performance in my master’s class. We did a sign language dance, and it was something very special to me. Since I needed to perform, I asked my husband to take care of our two kids. He decided to bring them to the mall while waiting for me to finish.

After my performance, I went straight to the mall. When I arrived, I saw my kids happily eating pizza at Greenwich. Their faces lit up the moment they saw me. I joined them, and we shared a simple meal together. It was not a big celebration, but it felt very special because we were together.

After eating, the kids rode the Jack Adventure train that goes around the second floor. I could see how much they enjoyed it. From the train, they looked down at me and their father, smiling and waving. Their smiles were priceless, and I felt so much joy in that moment.

We didn’t stop there. We went to the arcade, where the kids played and laughed. Seeing them happy made me feel that all my hard work in my job and my studies is worth it.

It was a wonderful weekend. I was able to do my performance as a student, and at the same time, I was able to bond with my children. I am thankful for my husband, who takes care of the kids when I am busy. And most of all, I am thankful for the little moments of joy with my family. They are the reason I keep going.
