I was about to delete my old photos from my phone after transferring them to my memory bank when this group of vibrant images caught my attention. The resolution of these images might not good as our photos nowadays, but something in these images is meaningful and valuable to my heart. These old photos bring back memories.
These were one of the happiest times I had with my old colleagues. It was our getaway during Christmas break at Midway Beach Resort, at Initao, Misamis Oriental.
They were once my best co-workers ever. We had a few arguments at work, but we really had fun going out together. We laughed hard, no fakes, we ate together, sang together, and even played and had fun like youngsters.
The white sand of Midway was unforgettable. We were playing on it like it was sugar. We built castles, we rolled, and we played different fun games in the sand. The beach was quiet, peaceful, and tranquil; it made us feel free, free from the restless lives we had, free from busy days, and free from noisy, semi-urban life.
Riding on a glass boat was one of the best experiences I had. I always had a fear of water. I didn't ride ships or boats then, but the glass boat experience made me realize that boat riding is okay. And the best thing about it was I got to see the nature below the water, under the sea. It was beautiful!
Another first time I had was the banana boat riding. I was not an adventurous person by birth. I hated heights, I hated water, and I hated water activities, but with the help of my colleagues who encouraged me to take the challenge, I was able to experience the banana boat. It was 100% fun! Good thing these people forced me, hahahhaha.
Jetski was also my first time at Midway. It was not even in my daydreams to experience this water ride, but I did. Again, with the effectiveness of peer pressure, I did the challenge. And I am thankful, until today, that I listened to them. I tried new things with them and it made me very happy and had so much fun.
As I scan through these photos, I know I miss them. With them, I was me and they contributed a lot for who I am today.
I could still remember that beautiful sunset at Midway. I wish we could have it once again, but it is quite impossible now. These photos will be treasured forever. These images always remind me that once, I had great friends with great fun together.
Old photos may fade in quality, but the memories behind them never lose their color. Looking back reminds us that true happiness often comes from shared moments, laughter, and the courage to try new things with people who make life brighter.
