At the very heart of the town of Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur, is a space enclosed by century-old trees, which also houses the municipality's gymnasium, municipal hall, police station, and Land Bank, the Aurora Municipal Playground, commonly known as the "children's park,".
It is a hectare of land, which is one of the family-friendly places to visit in Aurora, a spot for kids to play and families to unwind.
The big, old trees surrounded the whole area, making this space one of the coolest parts of the town, even when the sun is burning hot up there. The air is misty and cold, which offers complete relaxation while you sit in their beautifully designed benches under the trees.
Beautiful ornamental plants and flowering plants are landscaped, which adds charm and beauty to the park. Every child could run around safely in the park's fully fenced space, safeguarding the whole space.
Inside the playground are facilities that kids and adults can enjoy, in addition to its beautiful and charming nature. There was a set of swings that kids always love. Under the big and proud balite tree was the see-saw for kids and adults, which was so inviting.
Beside the basketball court was the kiddie slide, which my kids love the most. We keep on going back to this slide since the kids were still young until today, when they are already 5 and 7. They used to keep asking us to go to the playground almost every Sunday.
Benches and tables for a family picnic on Sundays are provided in the children's park. And take note, everything is for free, just make sure to throw your garbage in the right place. No entrance fee, no fees at all.
One of the corners of this playground that children also love is the zoo animal statue corner. This corner is a sort of educational to children. It is where they can see life-sized animal statues such as elephants, giraffes, and more.
The local government of this town places emphasis on a child-friendly municipality, and they prioritize children as the future leaders of society by providing amenities and social care for children.
The Aurora Municipal Playground, fondly called the children’s park, is more than just a playground; it’s a green haven at the heart of town where families can relax, children can laugh and play safely, and the community can come together. With its century-old trees, charming landscapes, fun facilities, and family-friendly spaces, it truly reflects Aurora’s commitment to nurturing its people, especially its children.
Note: These are old photos I found in my gallery, taken way back three years ago, and this children's park is now more developed and well-maintained.
