Social Media Leverage

Everyone is open to their opinions and ideas and everyone has their right to speech. Each of us has our own unique way to react to comments, situations or life events. We, as humans, have our unique way of expressing ourselves based on our beliefs, misbelief and shared experience. https://img.leopedia.io/DQmd3whps6voooFBio58X4gq8T7vRCiXwATfNy2eHxrmNuH/image-202.jpg **Image generated AI** Almost everything is digital not back then when things were analog. We can easily do business online, work online, message to whoever we want online. Things are made easy and life is made easy. When it comes to various institutions and schools most schools have their various websites where everyone could easily access them and freely know every information they want. I could remember when I stumbled into a video on tiktok of a past student raising an issue of what happened over 10 years ago. In her own point of view she wants to sue our Chaplain then because of the bad treatment she received and was already pulling the school reputation down. The chaplain already left the school by that time and it was kind of somehow raising dust over something that happened about 10 years ago. I scrolled down the comment section, everyone that went to the school some were supporting her while others weren't supporting her and it felt like everyone was now speaking out of their own opinion. It became an argument in my secondary school group chat. For some it was a means to voice out all that they passed through which they chose to hide during that time probably because they were scared or decided to let it slide but then by goons are by goons. In my own opinion, it's been over years since she left the school, passed through higher institutions but still bore the grudge of what happened to her 10 years ago. For me it doesn't make sense though. The issue ended up with her doing nothing even after she threatened to sue the school. What's the need of raising dust when there isn’t? Social media has given us leverage for us to voice out our own opinion. Most business owners are scared of being dragged. I could remember when a friend of mine was lamenting over a lady dragging her on tiktok ruining her business name because of the bad attitude her customer displayed when she required her services. Customers are always right but most of these customers most times are troublesome in nature and it's so overwhelming that you have to swallow some things just so you can uphold that standard for your business. Most of them come up with hate speech and you as a business owner how do you solve the issue without further escalating it or ruining your business name. From my observation, people are quick to react to hate speech more even if they know the person in question or not. Mind your business is not when it comes to social media. Most people use social media as a means to make other people's life hell. In a way it could be a defense mechanism. I could remember a friend of mine who got scammed by someone else. After making payment the girl ghosted her and never delivered her service. My friend did an obituary poster for her the next day and posted it in almost all the social media handles she had with the girl in common and later on the girl was forced to repay the money back.
