One of the highlights of my stay in Rovinj in may this year was a long walk from the Maistra Villas Rubin complex to Hotel Lone were the event we were going was held. The route follows the coastline, and even though the day was a bit cloudy, it only added a soft, calming light to the sea and sky.
We started right from our houses of Villas Rubin, heading north along the water.
The path meandered past quiet coves and pebble beaches, each with its own charm, some framed by pine trees, others opening to wider views of the horizon. The air was fresh with the scent of the sea and surrounding forest.
I thought the Lone hotel was closer, but the walk took almost an hour. Although it seemed that I would get tired, I wasn't at all, probably because of the favorable climate and fresh air.
Soon we entered Zlatni Rt park, where forest trails wind between tall pines and cypresses, leading to hidden rocky shores.
Joggers and cyclists passed by, and here and there we spotted locals walking their dogs.
Along the way, we passed elegant villas, a small seaside cafe perfect for a coffee break, and plenty of benches inviting us to stop and take in the view.
My colleagues didn't get tired either, on the contrary, they were even faster than me. I stopped to take photos of the surrounding areas because I wanted this to be my #wednesdaywalk. 😊
After about an hour of walking, Hotel Lone came into sight. It was the perfect mix of nature, sea, and a touch of Rovinj's charm, a walk worth repeating in any season.
Thank you for reading.
