As I mentioned in the previous post, I am now in Croatia on vacation and I finaly have enough free time to write about the places I visited in the previous period while I am resting on the beach. 😊 I looked through some photos on my phone and remembered all the places I had been that I will write about in the following days.
During my recent trip to Tara mountain, I decided to make a small detour on the way back and visit the temple in Solotusa - the church of the life-giving spring of the Holy mother of God.
Hidden in the heart of nature, this place feels like a sanctuary of faith, peace and serenity.
The church itself is simple but spiritual, surrounded by forest that seems to guard it.
As soon as you step into the courtyard, you feel different. You will be overwhelmed by peace, silence and something special that is hard to describe in words.
In the yard there is a fountain where you can drink and wash your face with holy water, which is said to be miraculous and has a beneficial effect on health.
Just a short walk behind the church, there is a spring and stream, which I accidentally discovered when I went down the stairs.
It was suddenly so cold and pleasant down there in contrast to the 40 degrees up there.
I thought what a magical place.
We were there for a while, and then my son wanted to see where the path above the stream led, so we headed that way to further explore this place.
We reached a viewpoint that opens towards the forest, offering a calming scene of endless greenery and fresh mountain air. Standing there, I felt as if time had slowed down, letting me breathe more deeply and notice the beauty around me.
Visiting Solotusa was an unexpected highlight of my trip. The combination of sacred space, untouched nature, and the refreshing energy of Tara left me with a lasting sense of calm that I carried home with me.
Thank you for reading.
