Hello everyone. If I tell you that I am still impressed by last weekend when I visited Fruska gora mountain, you will understand that I can't wait to write to you today. Fruska gora is a unique national park of amazing nature and wonderful landscapes. And it is special because of one more thing. It is also called the Holy mountain because of the many beautiful old monasteries, significant sights of Serbia.
The first monastery we visited this time is hidden among the green hills of Fruska gora and is called the Savinac monastery, dedicated to St. Sava.

I was with my family. Our visit there felt like stepping into history.

And for my children it was an exploratory adventure, even fun at the moment when I started to run away from the dog that chased us because we wanted to pet the carefree puppies, located under the house where the church was located.

When I heard the rustling of leaves, I got scared because I didn't know what kind of dog I could expect. I ran to enter the church, thinking that the children had come with me, but they didn't. Then I went back to get them and we entered the church together.

I was funny to them and they had a lot of fun watching me. And I was terrified. ๐ It was stronger than me, although I know it's not good to show fear in front of children.

It was quiet in the church, I felt like I had a refuge. ๐

Savinac is one of the smaller monasteries, but its modest size only adds to its charm. The monastery is said to have been built during the 16th century, although the original foundation is believed to date even earlier. Over the centuries, it faced wars, destruction, and rebuilding, just like many other sacred places in this region. Today, parts of the old stone walls still stand, bearing silent witness to all that has passed.

The walls are being reconstructed to save them from demolition.

I went inside and the impression was very strong.

I stayed there for a while.

This monastery has a very beautiful and spacious courtyard.

There are a lot of walnuts in the area, so my husband took the opportunity to pick some from the ground.

Many people have holiday cottages here, and now we understand why.

Thank you for reading.
