Most people on Hive understand you should not take a stand on a guy who has nearly million Hive Power and @blocktrades phone number.
On the other hand, some people fail to understand that risking 3 Hive weekly in author rewards skews the math considerably - especially if you have a few thousand Hive invested in tokens that are being abused.
Those blessed with analytical thinking can work out that adjusting 3 Hive weekly to zero changes the risk-reward ratio from temptingly solid to infinite rewards. That is why I am back here, posting about DACH one more time.
Chronocrypto
To put things in perspective, I have recently noticed @spaminator downvote on a @chronocrypto comment. I am not a fan or investor in Utopis project but his #4 position on ARCHON richlist made me check. Apparently, chronocrypto plagirised himself reposting a three-year old post. The post was zeroed with 22 downvotes (Part Two took 35 downvotes). I do not think reposting one's old work without reference is cool. It is an obvious deception attempt. The apology could have been more visible too. OK, quite a few people can feel good about having the work done (including those who auto-DVed following a trail). I think they are fooling themselves wasting energy at marginal abuse.
DACH
Dach is a German word for "roof" and also happens to represent the world's three German speaking countries - Europeans are familiar with the acronyms on license plates - D for Deutschland (Germany), A for Austria and CH for Confederation Helvetica (Switzerland). It is also the name of the most toxic Hive community I currently know of.
Disclaimer: If German happens to be your first language it does not automatically make you a DACH member. Hive Communities are voluntary.
Yes, I am familiar with Lassecash. The leader is a highly eccentrical bloke who is really deep inside @themarkymark 's head. To be fair, there is a good reason.. The list has some characters on it. Plagiarism is a lifstyle that sometimes comes together with the urge to lie about your actions. It is as tough as alcoholism when it comes to abstaining after leaving rehab. Still, I consider Lassecash tribe just a safely enclosed zoo.
The big picture was touched by @theycallmedan in his huge essay/manifesto. It is great to have Layer 1 token's inflation distributed among various groups (not just miners, for example). For me, liars and spam creators fit into the definition of various groups. Let us evaluate their Layer 2 tokens on the market but the effort marky (and a few others) are putting into zeroing the Hive rewards feels an overreaction to me. Lower the rewards - fine. Zero the rewards - shaky ground.
Jelly
I am not saying that because I have just got Layer-1-zeroed as well. I totally deserved it on the cheap shot at posting a stub about what seems to be a new division of the Hive's largest dairy conglomerate. I was short on time and wanted to react quick. OTOH, I do think everyone can benefit from reading the Barrel Fallacy article even if not playing Splinterlands. Maybe that is the downvote that can serve as a platform for @onealfa and @trostparadox to unite their tribe edging a civil war. It provides an opportunity to arrive at the same conclusions despite starting at opposite ends of the opinion spectrum in the general downvote debate.
As for my downvoted comments, well - going from one legitimate post to another and removing curation rewards from a handful of people networked into the community is a pure lunacy. Rich people are allowed to be insane, too.
Altonos
So obviously, the downvotes are not post-specific. I understand them as an acknowledgment of the relevance of my previous work mapping German language spam structures. I have already been complimented by @schlees, who happens to be on Hive.vote's shortest-description downvote trail owned by @altonos. "@louis88" is supposed to be an explanation. The only thing I could understand from it is that a decent chunk of Hive community has been silently accepting being shat on their heads for a while now. Louis is obviously not a random account below the rounding error line.
Is altonos an alt account? I do not care.
Kirstin/Barmbo
Is @kirstin alt of @barmbo account? I do not care again. Other way around? You should not care either.
Even though there are supposedly actors properly playing the characters at DACH Meetups, it is obvious the two accounts are operated by the same person. It might as well be balte, who delegated identical HP amounts to both of them on the same day in 2019. He is probably not. The owner might have just snapped two identical offers on dLease.
Browsing through delegation lists is another worthy pastime especially when it comes to non-posters like @thecryptodrive (including @megadrive alt). Obviously, dLease marketplace means anyone can appear on the list randomly but the longer the delegation runs, the more likely a generic connection exists. The delagtions to @ph-support are quite disturbing in this context as Project Hope was widely recognised to be the #1 toxic community not that long ago. I really hope this is coincidental.
Anyway, do you stil remember the self-plagiarised guy from the beginning of the post? I know it feels like three years ago.
Take this, kirstin/barmbo plagiarise themselves multiple times a day. They repost what they wrote the day before. There are a few templates they rotate but guess what - once you are being downvoted, you might as well use them all daily.
I obviously have nowhere near enough downvote mana to counter this strategy. It probably feels better than having too much HP to use wondering why I cannot do more. I am using the mana to at least remove as much Layer 2 rewards as possible. LEO official policy is not to care about miscategorized content any longer and leave it to users to DV. I have no POB tokens. ARCHON has no policy.
Tribe layer is why I wait a few days to downvote with this account but I regularly flag the posts from @jelly-cz (that has always been clearly labeled as alt in the profile, btw) as soon as they are out. Please do not waste time pretending not to have seen one of those before. If you did and did not care, that is OK with me. You might want to reconsider today. Or you might be fine with it. You can downvote me back if you disagree and want help DACH by making me to spread myself too thin. Most likely, you do not need to do anything as you are just not involved at all. It might have been your curation rewards that got removed in the balte breakdown. If your curation stayed unscratched this time, you can patiently wait for your turn.
Sensitive Content
Please skip to Conclusion if you are a person that can get easily offended. Seriously, do not blame me if you could not.
People of certain nation have been drinking in pubs patting one another's backs and dreaming about grabbing the future in their hands even before 1933. Not acting in 1935 was a mistake. Some nations regretted in 38, others in 39, some in 41. Any of those came out better than regretting in 45 but all of those had been one hell of a trouble by then.
Draw your own conclusions. People are not responsible for what their parents did, let alone their grandparents - let alone this construct being used to blame on nation-wide rather than family level.
A person born in Czechoslovakia should be cautious before sticking this sensitive parallel under the nose of a bunch of German speakers but you might have noticed I am somewhat cornered here by now.
Speaking of the nationality, it hints why I once downvoted a DACH post based on content disagreement. For those not familiar with the regional historical context, a possible localisation would be referring to 1962 as "the year JFK brought missiles to Cuba". Hope that helps you get started. Power of the Powerless is worth a read (without someone bending it over).
BTW, @indextrader24 has been the first to land a couple of so-called malicious upvotes on balte's spam comments. I did not know that when I DVed their post. Just observing.
Conclusion
I hate to include emotions in business but I can feel for balte. He claimed not to be German in the first place which probably explains the urge to work hard on being accepted within the new environment. I understand it to be the background of building a herd of flunkies around him which happens to filter out any sincere feedback. That is kind of sad as one would think half a million bucks can buy better stuff these days. The other tough part is he clearly refuses to see the world outside monetary values. Sadly, it seems to be the Andrej Babis lifestory replay. A foreigner that comes to invest money to milk public funds. Some invested in human relations. Some in owning the media (see @hiq but it might not be good enough content to learn German to read it). And there is always some idiot like me that cannot keep their mouth shut about it.
Balte had claimed to put me on mute but he has since been back with more threats and more attempts to single me out as a misfit. It means he must be really scared. Rich people delegate marginal tasks. DACH means the world to him which is fine. It would have been as safe as Lassecash if it were not for the attempts to export their culture outside their inner circle. It needs to be said every community has one but you can tell a lot by watching how open or closed it is towards the outside world.
A downvote is worth thousand words.
Especially with numbers-oriented people.
For the record, I still feel sane.
