Hi, hivers. Oh, so this is how it felt when you joined this hive community with different people. However, I’m still doubtful if people will welcome me and like my being here. Nevertheless, one thing I’m sure of while joining here is that I can learn new things, explore different communities, engage with new people, make friends, improve my skills, and show you my passion in life.
**Who am I?**
Allow me to introduce myself to everyone. I’m Jean Catarinen, tall and skinny, with brown skin and curly hair. I am an upcoming 20-year-old this July 30, and I live in Libjo, Tabogon, Cebu. I’m an introverted, NBSB person. Maybe we all know what NBSB means—it’s No Boyfriend Since Birth. As of now, I’m just enjoying my life to the fullest, and it feels so great.

Let’s go with my attitude. I’m sarcastic, and it became a reason why few people hate me. I don’t like noise, especially when I’m about to go to sleep; it really irritates me. I’m also OA, and I get jealous easily. My classmates told me as well that I’m not friendly, but let me defend myself. I’m not friendly; it’s because I have trust issues with people and don’t trust easily. That’s why, if you become my friend, it’s because I trust you and I want you to be part of my life. After knowing my attitude, would you still want to be friends with me? If yes, I’m open to friendship
Let’s continue with my studies. I graduated from junior and senior high school at Binabag National High School. There were a lot of happy memories from my high school days that remained unforgettable. I had a lot of friends back then who remained remarkable. However, after graduating, me and my friends go separate ways due to different choices of university and courses. And through the ups and downs of my high school years, my college day begins!. At first, I have a lot of what-ifs—the fear, the stress, or every negative thing that strikes at me. I’m on my own now, far from my family. I’ve been struggling in the first year since it was a pandemic. Our school days are split into two: online and traditional. It’s such a blessing to survive my 1st year and 2nd year of college in life, and I’m happy to share with you guys that I’m now an upcoming 3rd year Industrial Engineering student in Ctu-Tabogon Extension. Although my school doesn’t have a tuition fee, the pressure is still on. Everyday stress comes from projects, activities, and sometimes an allowance. It’s so hard to be poor, right? However, it helps us to appreciate the little things in life, to remain sturdy when circumstances strike, and especially to study hard to achieve our goals in life.

Since CTU is far away from our home, my parents decided to have just a boarding house near my school. I always complained about my boarding house because the monthly fee was 2,000 pesos per room. We’re three in the room, so we pay 667 pesos each. I always complained about the spacing. The space is not as wide as you imagined. It’s so small that our things might not fit. Sometimes in the afternoon, we felt like lechons due to the heat. However, I have no choice but to accept that it’s like that.
**Get to know me more!**
I do love to travel. If I do have money, then I will probably travel around the world. I want to explore new things, new people, and a new environment. I owned one cat; my dog just passed away last year, and it’s so sad. My mother right now doesn’t want to have another dog to take care of. I do have a favorite food—seafood, to be exact. I always crave seafood every time I eat. I don’t have a favorite drink or dessert. I’m not picky about foods; I eat what’s on the table. I appreciate what my parents can afford. Are you like that too?

Oh, maybe you’re wondering how many of us are in the family and our status in life. Let me tell it to you guys. We are five in the family, and we’re three siblings. I’m the youngest. Sadly, the second child is a PWD (person with disability); she can’t talk or really understand. However, we’re still lucky to have her in our lives. We’re just poor, but still, I’m thankful that they became my family. They always motivate me to be better, to do better, and especially to be a successful person in the future to payback all the sacrifices that they make for me. My parents may be poor with money, but I’m rich with guidance, with love, with wisdom, with words, and with care. By that, can you agree with me that I’m still grateful to my family?

**My hobbies, interests and passion in life**
I was a Wattpader before, or, let’s just say, a Wattpad addict, to be exact, but then I quit after 3 years. My hobbies right now are watching kdrama and playing ML when I’m bored. I’m not into sports. I prefer staying at home rather than going to my neighborhood. I just started being a TikTok affiliate too. I do live with the products and post videos to earn money, but sadly, right now my TikTok account has been restricted. Would you believe me if I said that I don’t know how to swim or ride a bike at this age? Because yes, I can’t. It’s just a simple thing for y’all, but it’s hard for me. I even want to know how to ride a motorcycle, but then I can’t practice since we don’t have a motorcycle that fits me. And now, do you feel sympathy?

I really do love K-pop, especially BTS. They’re my inspiration to work hard in order to attend their concert, buy their merchandise, and travel to South Korea.

**From whom did I learn hive?**
I learned about hive from @iamcherfellll and @callmesmile. The orientation was led by @callmesmile. It almost took an hour, and I learned a lot of what she’d discuss. I hope they will share it with many, as it is an opportunity to join this hive community.
I can contribute to this hive community by helping others with their growth and development. Moreover, to always inspire and motivate them. To help hivers to build their more confidence. Let’s be good to each other and be friends.
Thank you for reading, hivers. Have a great day ahead.🥰
