En esta semana que recién termina viví uno de los momentos más felices y nostálgicos de mi vida desde que salí de Cuba hace casi dos años: el cumpleaños número 5 de mi niño Jeremy Reannd. Ya es el segundo cumple que pasamos separados, pero siento como si hubiéramos pasado siglos distanciados. Desde temprano, mi mami( mi mano derecha y mentora de mi niño en mi ausencia) preparó todo en función de lo que habían coordinado para hacer ese día: una estancia en Villa La Lupe, un lugar acogedor que cuenta con piscina, una opción muy divertida para cualquier niño.
Esa mañana, Vida(como yo le digo a mi bebé), despertó más temprano que nunca. Desde que vino a este mundo, se ha caracterizado por disfrutar cada cumpleaños como ningún otro niño, algo que me llena de satisfacción, porque se que todo lo que hacemos vale la pena. Y allá fueron, Vida, su familia y algunos amigos cercanos que nunca faltan. Llegaron al lugar y le hicieron una pequeña decoración para poder tomar algunas fotos con los invitados. Cómo siempre, Jeremy le molesta un poco eso de hacer muchas fotos, y costó trabajo convencerlo.
Inmediatamente terminó la sesión, allá fue él, como el primero, para la piscina. Pero antes, llegó una sorpresa que le preparé desde aquí, un muñeco de Mickey Mouse le entregó un presente recogido por mí, mientras cantaban feliz cumpleaños. Fue super emocionante, sobre todo porque él se divirtió muchísimo. Y así transcurrió el día, entre risas, baño, dulces, y mucho amor!!!! Yo me sentí agradecida por todos los que colaboraron, y Vida se sintió UN NIÑO MUY FELIZ!!!

This past week, I experienced one of the happiest and most nostalgic moments of my life since I left Cuba almost two years ago: my son Jeremy Reannd's 5th birthday. It's the second birthday we've spent apart, but it feels like we've been apart for centuries. Early in the morning, my mom (my right-hand woman and mentor to my son in my absence) prepared everything based on what they had planned for that day: a stay at Villa La Lupe, a cozy place with a pool, a very fun option for any child. That morning, Vida (as I call my baby) woke up earlier than ever. Since she came into this world, she has been known for enjoying every birthday like no other child, something that fills me with satisfaction, because I know that everything we do is worth it. And off they went: Vida, her family, and some close friends who are always there. They arrived at the venue and made a few small decorations so they could take some photos with the guests. As always, Jeremy is a little bothered by the idea of taking too many photos, and it was hard to convince him. As soon as the session ended, he went, like the first one, to the pool. But before that, there was a surprise I prepared for him from here. A Mickey Mouse doll gave him a present I'd picked up, while they sang Happy Birthday. It was super exciting, especially because he had so much fun. And so the day went by, with laughter, swimming, candy, and lots of love! I was grateful for everyone who helped, and Vida felt like a very happy child!
