If there was one flaw in my life, it would be my constant procrastination. But one good thing about this, was the constant luck too on my side. I could procrastinate, but in the end, I'll still be able to fix the issues on time before things go berserk.
I did this so well, until one day, it cost me a lifetime opportunity. An opportunity that would've changed everything. This very flaw of mine resulted to that heartbreaking loss of opportunity.

The buzz of the cellphone jolted me from sleep. I grumbled, as I had no intention of waking up yet. Without checking who the caller was, I drifted back to sleep, only to be awakened again by the loud tap on my door.
"Who's that?!" I yelled, hissing furiously, and murmuring how tired I was.
"Jenny, better open up now. I've been calling you."
*Lydia*
*Why is she here this early?*
I got up from the bed, and opened the door. She glared at me, and I glared back.
"Why didn't you pick up?" She asked.
"I was sleeping. Can't I sleep in peace?"
"It's nine in the morning, and you're still sleeping. I have good news for you that will change our lives."
"Can't it wait?" I collapsed onto my bed, still sleepy.
"Wait till you hear it." She excitedly sat on the bed, and turned on her phone.
She showed me a page on her browser, and it had information on scholarship opportunities. I sat up, suddenly interested, and I went through the information. The cooperation in charge of the sponsoring was offering to pay the school charges up to the final year. I was excited. My school results met the requirements for the application of the scholarship.
"Whoa, Lydia... This is wonderful. Are you applying?"
"I've done that already. Immediately I saw it, I applied and came down here to share the news."
"I'll do the same. Thanks for sharing this news. I'll just round up my sleep routine, and apply straightaway."
"Why not do this now? You can sleep later."
"The scholarship isn't running, Lydia. I'll apply when I wake up."
Lydia left, and I went back to sleep. When I finally woke up, I visited the site again, and saw that it was still open for the application.
*I'll apply once I'm done with breakfast.*
I prepared breakfast, and after eating, a notification for a show that I've been watching for some time popped up in my phone. I went back to the site, and saw that it was still open.
*Well, it'll still be open when I finish this show.*
I watched the show which lasted for like three hours. After that, I remembered that I had fixed an appointment with a hairdresser, and it was already time to meet her. I dressed, and left the house.
When I got to the salon, the place was filled with lively chatter, and I soon forgot about the scholarship application.
Lydia called to ask if I had applied.
"It skipped my mind, Lydia. But I'll get it done as soon as I'm done with my hair."
"How long will that last? The site might close before you finish."
"Don't worry, it won't."
By the time I got back home, I was very exhausted, and I fell asleep.
*I'll apply once I wake up. I'll just sleep for thirty minutes.*
By the time I woke up, it was already past midnight. I rushed to turn on my phone, and I went to the site, but it was already closed. The scholarship application was closed, and I didn't apply.
Lydia called me the next morning, but I was too sad to respond to her call. I was sad because I had lost a golden opportunity to save myself and my parents from spending too much on my school charges.
If only I had applied for the scholarship, I would've been free from struggling to pay my fees for the next three years that I still had to spend in school.
I procrastinated.
And I missed the boat because of that.
