A variety of the already beautiful mandarinfish, the Angelic Mandarinfish is said to be blessed by the magic of the sea. They swim in the most gorgeous of tropical waters and live peaceful lives in harmony with all around them. It is said that the touch of an Angelic Mandarinfish has healing properties. And that if one sees an injured person in need, they will swim up and stare into your eyes. As if looking into your soul. If they deem you to be kind, they will heal your wounds.
How's it going, fellow Splinterlanders? Did you have a haunted 🎃Halloween? Are you getting ready for Thanksgiving yet? This week's Splinterlands community challenge is about sharing your battle strategy insights. I've got nothing deep or complicated to share with you today. In fact, it's guilty of maybe not even being a strategy at all, but it worked against another non-strategy of magic spamming.
The game has been changing quickly lately, and thankfully, it's been mostly for a better player experience, but using a strong tank and magic spamming have always been good ways to win a battle. Speaking of changes, which has affected you the most? I've found that since you could win lucky draws and a guaranteed 15 cards a day for fifteen wins just by playing the free Frontier mode, I've been spending a lot more time playing and improving my Splinterlands battle strategies. It's hard with all the new cards recently added to the META, but my battle today showed us that old dogs can still win battles.
What's your favorite new reward card? They are still so new to me that nothing is coming to mind. Just asking you this question without actually seeing them in my deck draws a blank, but the only card that comes to mind is Grove Doomblade because she's both cool-looking and has been a useful rear attacker so far.
Now that reward cards will cost a lot more Glint, I doubt I'll get any of them to MAX level before they go out of print, but I'll still try. I put all of my focus on getting the common cards MAXed first, but that was a boring grind and I ended up with way too many copies in the end so I'll be gridning away at the rare cards this time so maybe, just maybe I'll get Grove Doomblade here to MAX-level where she'll do well when the slow can go first and she'll smash the enemy's rear with an ambush sneak attack. Even at level one, she's proved to be a useful card, but it's going to take some time to level her attack up, as she doesn't upgrade that until she's a level 6 card. She's a little mana-expensive for my tastes, but it seems all of the new cards are that way.
I'm quite proud of my whale battle today because I defeated a magic spammer and didn't lose a single card, even though they came at my whale hard. I also like doing weapons training with the whale and teaching him how to magic attack or shoot arrows, but he worked as an impassable meat shield today. Even after getting poisoned and having every one of the cards attacking him, he made it through the battle, allowing the rest of my cards to attack the enemy without taking any damage.
Thanks for reading about my whale battle today. It's always nice to have a perfect victory, but it's even better when it's against a magic spammer. Sorry that I didn't share any ingenious new strategy with you today, other than using my whale as a meat shield, but sometimes simple is what works best.
