I'm excited to submit another entry for Hive Open Mic Week 270. When I saw the theme Holy Spirit, the artist that came to my mind was CeCe Winans and the song was Holy Spirit Come Fill This Place.
The first time I learned the song was when I was in the choir. So, I was giving the song to score and sing as a solo song actually. And it turned out that while listening to the song, I saw that I would need some backups. So, I had to discuss with the music director, and he pointed out a few choir members to back me up while singing. And then I scored the song.
I did my best, but I think at that that, I found some parts quite challenging. And although I'm not better yet, I still have a lot of work to do. But I found that singing it now seemed a bit more... less tedious for me, kind of, because it was about probably 8 years ago, around that period I first learned the song. I really can't remember right now.
So, this is my entry for Hive Open Mic #270. I hope that you all connect with this song and be blessed by it. Whoever suggested this theme actually picked a really good theme, because I feel everyone from all walks of life can relate to it. So, I hope that you enjoy listening to this song.
If you've listened to the cover, you will hear that I had to improvise. I couldn't use an instrumental that has backing vocals because I couldn't find one. So, I had to, you know, do my own thing, even though it's not as good as the original song was, I just had to do something that would still sound nice.
