Hello to all my anime fanatic friends, I hope you are super well, this time I want to share a new review with all of you, Hive communities, today I come to talk to you about an interesting anime, it is: "The Aquatope on White Sand" is one of those series that, boom!, gets into your heart.. I went into it thinking "ah, a calm slice-of-life" but it is much more, it gave me an emotional trip, things start off strong, we meet Fuka, and boom!, her dream of being an idol goes down the drain, she feels super lost, like a ship without a course, and let's see, who hasn't felt like that at some point when a dream is shattered? It's just something we all connect with, so, like, "I need to get away from it all," she ends up in Okinawa and boom! She finds a tiny aquarium, kind of old, yes, but with a charm that, ugh!, the Gama Gama... there she meets Kukuru, who's a character: incredibly passionate, kind of clumsy at times, but super serious about her job as the manager. And what's Kukuru's goal? To save the Gama Gama, because her grandfather, the owner, is getting old and says, "This is it, we're closing down." So you have these two: one with a shattered dream and the other fighting her hardest to keep hers alive. In Fuka, she sees Kukuru's drive and says, "Come on, I'll help you!" That simplicity, that beautiful, relatable human drama... I was captivated, I wanted to see if they could pull it off... and hold on, because PA Works didn't mess around with the visuals. This series is beautiful, people, if you already know PA Works, you know that these guys serve up a feast for your eyes, and "Aquatope" is no slouch, the colors are crazy, vibrant, they immerse you in that summer in Okinawa, you can almost feel the warmth and the smell of the sea, the aquariums, both the Gama Gama and the new one that comes out later, what a level of detail, please! And the fish... a lot of the marine life is CGI, but it's so, SO well done that you don't even notice, it blends perfectly with the 2D, it doesn't feel weird at all... it's one of those series where every scene is very pretty. >Hola a todos mis amigos fanáticos del anime, espero que estén super bien, en esta ocasión les quiero compartir una nueva reseña a todos ustedes, comunidades de Hive, hoy les vengo a hablar de un anime interesante, se trata de: "The Aquatope on White Sand" es de esas series que, ¡pum!, se te meten en el corazón.. yo le entré pensando "ah, un slice-of-life tranqui" pero es mucho más, me pegó un viajecito emocional, la cosa arranca fuerte, conocemos a Fuka, que ¡zas!, su sueño de ser idol se le va al tacho, se siente súper perdida, como barco sin rumbo, y a ver, ¿quién no se ha sentido así alguna vez cuando un sueño se te rompe? Es que es algo con lo que todos conectamos, total que, en plan "necesito huir de todo", termina en Okinawa y ¡paf!, se encuentra con un acuario chiquito, medio viejito sí, pero con un encanto que ¡uff!, el Gama Gama.. ahí conoce a Kukuru, que es un personaje: apasionadísima, medio torpe a veces, pero súper seria con su trabajo de ser como la encargada.
Y cuál es el objetivo de Kukuru? Salvar el Gama Gama, porque el abuelo, que es el dueño, ya está grande y dice "hasta aquí llegamos, cerramos". Entonces tienes a estas dos: una con el sueño roto y la otra peleando con todo para que el suyo no se muera, en Fuka ve las ganas que le echa Kukuru y dice "¡va, te ayudo!".. esa simpleza, esa belleza de drama humano tan cercano.. me atrapó, quería ver si lo lograban.. y agárrense, porque PA Works no se anduvo con jueguitos en lo visual. ¡Esta serie es una hermosura, gente, si ya conocen a PA Works, saben que estos tipos te sirven un banquete para los ojos, y "Aquatope" no se queda atrás, los colores son una cosa de locos, vibrantes, te meten de lleno en ese verano en Okinawa, casi que sientes el calorcito y el olor a mar, los acuarios, tanto el Gama Gama como el nuevo que sale después, ¡qué nivel de detalle, por favor! Yes, it is a slice-of-life, there's no doubt about that, but it's not afraid to show you the characters dealing with really adult issues, that vibe that dreams sometimes don't come true and reality hits you in the face, ugh! It's there all the time. You see the characters, some of them fresh out of school, dealing with disappointments, tough decisions, and the routine of work, of everyday life... what I liked most is that it never feels like an exaggerated melodrama, or like they're trying to make you cry. No, no, it feels... real, like you say "yeah, that's life sometimes." But wait, there's something that blew my mind and gives it a super unique touch: it has a magical, kind of supernatural vibe! Because Gama Gama isn't just an aquarium, it has, like... its own soul, its own spirit. The people who go to Gama Gama, especially if they're having a bad time, often have strange, almost mystical visions, you know what I mean? And it's not like they're random visions, no way! They're super personal and often give them inspiration, or consolation, or shed a little light on things... this really confirms that Gama Gama is much more than a business; it's a place with soul, an important cultural site that must be cared for for reasons that go beyond just having little fish. It's as if the aquarium were another character, caring for and guiding the people who pass by. It was such a lovely and unexpected detail in the story. >Pero no es solo que se vea bonito y ya, la serie tiene un toque de realismo que, la verdad, está bien bueno, sobre todo cuando se mete con eso de que "ser adulto es complicado", sí, es un slice-of-life, de eso no hay duda, pero no teme mostrarte a los personajes lidiando con temas bien de grandes, esa onda de que los sueños a veces no se cumplen y la realidad te pega una cachetada, ¡uf!, está ahí todo el tiempo. Ves a los personajes, algunos recién salidos de la escuela, dándose de cara con desilusiones, con decisiones jodidas y con la rutina del trabajo, del día a día.. lo que más me gustó es que nunca se siente como un melodrama exagerado, o como que te quieren hacer llorar a la fuerza. No, no, se siente… real, como que dices "sí, así es la vida a veces". Pero esperen, que hay algo que me voló la cabeza y le da un toque súper único: ¡tiene como una onda mágica, medio sobrenatural! Porque el Gama Gama no es un acuario así nomás, tiene como… su propia alma, su espíritu, la gente que va al Gama Gama, sobre todo si la están pasando mal, muchas veces tienen como unas visiones raras, casi místicas, ¿me explico?
Y no es que sean visiones al azar, ¡qué va! Son súper personales y muchas veces les dan como una inspiración, o un consuelo, o les aclaran un poco el panorama.. esto te recontra confirma que el Gama Gama es mucho más que un negocio; es un lugar con alma, un lugar cultural importante que hay que cuidar por cosas que van más allá de solo tener pescaditos. Because, seriously, they are the soul of this series, what makes it beat. Kukuru is... passionate about life, but she's also young and, at times, a bit clumsy, especially in the first half. Her world is Gama Gama and the animals that live there, nothing more! Fuka, who was feeling down because her dream of being an idol was over, finds a new direction helping Kukuru and getting fully involved in all things marine... the chemistry between them is crazy, people! But it's not just them, those around them are good characters, Kukuru's grandfather is pure wisdom, but don't worry, Kai, her childhood friend, has his own story, his own problem... as things progress, especially in the second half, we get to know more people. I loved how the series takes its time to develop even the characters that appear later. Maybe at first you don't like some of them or you don't see their vibe, but then the series shows you its cards, it emphasizes the idea of ​​not judging at first glance and learning to get along with different people. Everyone felt like flesh and blood, learning from each other, making real friends... that feeling of family that you choose, of people who come together to lend a hand... oh, how beautiful, and well, this is where things get curious, where I think the debate about the series begins: the two halves. The first half gets straight to the point... the objective is crystal clear: save Gama Gama! Everyone is rowing in that direction, it's intense, it moves things inside you, and you're there supporting them all the time, it's super powerful, and I was hooked, I couldn't stop! Then, halfway through… some time passes, and the series takes a turn for the worse. The second half focuses more on the characters, especially Kukuru, how they make their way through their jobs and finding fulfillment even when things don’t go as planned. I’ve heard some people say that the second half kind of loses a bit of steam… it’s definitely a different vibe. For me, while the urgency of the first half was gone, the second half offered something else: a deeper exploration of what it means to find your place in the world, even if it’s not where you originally imagined it. There were times when Kukuru’s development felt a little… repetitive, maybe? Like she’d go around in circles, figure something out, then hesitate, then try again… but then I started to think, isn’t that kind of how it is when you’re just starting out as an adult? That uncertainty, that trial and error, felt very real, very much like real life, although it might not have been the most "entertaining" if you're looking for action all the time... it's more like simmering something, watching these characters grow and adapt. >A ver, gente, ahora sí, hablemos de los personajes! Porque, en serio, son el alma de esta serie, lo que la hace latir. Kukuru es… una apasionada de la vida, pero también es joven y, a veces, medio torpe, sobre todo en la primera mitad, su mundo es Gama Gama y los animales que viven ahí, ¡nada más! Fuka, que venía con el bajón de que su sueño de ser idol se acabó, se encuentra como un nuevo norte ayudando a Kukuru y metiéndose de lleno en todo lo marino.. la química entre ellas es una cosa de locos, gente! pero que no son solo ellas, los que están alrededor son unos buenos personajes, el abuelo de Kukuru es pura sabiduría, pero tranqui, Kai, el amigo de la infancia, tiene su propia historia, su propio problema.. conforme avanza la cosa, sobre todo en la segunda parte, vamos conociendo a más gente, me encantó cómo la serie se toma su tiempito para desarrollar hasta los personajes que aparecen más tarde.
Capaz que al principio alguno te cae medio mal o no le ves la onda, pero después la serie te va mostrando sus cartas, te recalca esa idea de no juzgar a la primera y de aprender a llevarte con gente distinta. Todos se sentían de carne y hueso, aprendiendo unos de otros, armando amistades de verdad.. esa sensación de familia que uno elige, de gente que se junta para darse una mano… ay, qué bonito, y bueno, acá es donde la cosa se pone curiosa, donde creo que se arma el debate sobre la serie: las dos mitades. La primera mitad va directo al grano.. el objetivo está clarísimo: ¡salvar Gama Gama! Todos están remando para ese lado, es intensa, te mueve cosas por dentro, y estás ahí apoyándolos a cada rato, es súper potente, y yo estaba enganchadísimo, ¡no podía parar! Luego, a la mitad.. pasa un tiempo, y la serie pega un cambiazo, la segunda mitad se enfoca más en los personajes, sobre todo en Kukuru, cómo le encuentran la vuelta a sus trabajos y cómo sentirse plenos aunque las cosas no salgan como uno las planeó.. escuché por ahí a algunos decir que la segunda mitad como que pierde un poco de fuerza.. definitivamente es otra vibra.
Para mí, aunque esa urgencia de la primera parte ya no estaba, la segunda te ofrecía otra cosa: una exploración más profunda de lo que significa encontrar tu lugar en el mundo, incluso si no es donde te lo imaginabas al principio, hubo un momento en que el desarrollo de Kukuru se sentía un poco… ¿repetitivo, quizás? Como que daba vueltas en círculo, resolvía algo, después dudaba, después lo intentaba de nuevo.. pero después me puse a pensar, ¿y no es así un poco cuando uno recién está arrancando a ser adulto? Esa incertidumbre, ese probar y equivocarse, se sintió muy real, muy de la vida misma, aunque capaz no era lo más "entretenido" si buscas acción a cada rato.. es más bien como cocinar algo a fuego lento, viendo cómo estos personajes van creciendo y adaptándose. ---  [Image Source](https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/116724/season/1/episode/4/images/backdrops) --- And this, people, has to do with the themes that are there, at the heart of the series, yes, it's about saving an aquarium, but it's also about caring for life, just like that, in a big way, that of animals and our own... it's about the passion you put into something you love and how you spread that passion to others, trying to make them see the magic that you see, it's about working as a team, with the problems and joys of rowing together... but perhaps what stuck with me the most, especially from the second part, is that message of accepting things. Sometimes life doesn't give you what you want, you know? Sometimes your biggest dreams, phew!, don't come true. The series shows you how you face that: not by giving up, but by seeking strength and meaning in the cards you've been dealt, learning to love what you do have, even if it's different from what you expected. It's a very mature message and, for me, super important! Honestly, when I got to the end, I was sort of processing it... the change in the second half did throw me off a bit at first, and I wondered if it had the same power as the first, but the more I thought about it, the more I appreciated the whole message of the entire journey... it's not a perfect series, eh, maybe the pacing in the second half was a little slow for some, but it has a heart, so, for me, "The Aquatope on White Sand" gets an 8/10, it looks incredible, it touches your soul and leaves you thinking a lot about dreams, reality and how to find your path... if you're looking for a slice-of-life that's more than just a passtime, something with animation that's a painting, characters that you immediately grow fond of and that has some depth, you have to give it a chance! It's a calm story, sometimes it makes you a little melancholic, but in the end it leaves you with a beautiful feeling, of hope, about growing up and that magic that you can find where you least expect it... and that's all friends, I hope you liked it, take care! Bye! >Y esto, gente, tiene que ver con los temas que están ahí, en el fondo de la serie, si, va de salvar un acuario, pero también va de cuidar la vida, así, en grande, la de los bichos y la nuestra.. va de la pasión que le metes a algo que amas y cómo le contagias esa pasión a otros, tratando de que vean la magia que tu ves, va de trabajar en equipo, con los problemas y las alegrías de remar todos para el mismo lado.. pero quizás lo que más me quedó, sobre todo de la segunda parte, es ese mensaje de aceptar las cosas. A veces la vida no te da lo que quieres, ¿viste? A veces tus sueños más grandes, ¡puf!, no se cumplen, la serie te muestra cómo le haces frente a eso: no bajando los brazos, sino buscando la fuerza y el sentido en las cartas que te tocaron, aprendiendo a querer lo que sí tienes, aunque sea diferente a lo que esperabas, es un mensaje bien maduro y, para mí, ¡súper importante!
La verdad, cuando llegué al final, me quedé como procesándolo.. el cambio en la segunda mitad sí me descolocó un poco al principio, y me preguntaba si tenía la misma fuerza que la primera, pero cuanto más le daba vueltas, más valoraba todo el mensaje del viaje completo.. no es una serie perfecta, eh, capaz el ritmo en la segunda mitad a algunos se les hizo un poquito lento, pero el corazón lo tiene, así que, para mí, "The Aquatope on White Sand" se lleva un **8/10**, se ve increíble, te llega al alma y te deja pensando un montón sobre los sueños, la realidad y cómo encontrar tu camino.. si andan buscando un slice-of-life que sea más que pasar el rato, algo con una animación que es una pinturita, personajes que te encariñas al toque y que tenga su profundidad, ¡tienen que darle una oportunidad! Es una historia tranqui, a veces te pone un poco melancólico, pero al final te deja una sensación linda, de esperanza, sobre crecer y esa magia que puedes encontrar donde menos te lo imaginas.. y eso es todo amigos, espero que les haya gustado, cuidense!
