Hello everyone, dear friends of Hive, once again I want to share my opinions in this great community, this time I will talk a little about the book: Twisted Love by Anna Juan, and well, I already knew that I was going to embark on a journey of strong emotions... the central idea is a romance between Ava, a university girl, photographer and super positive, and Alex, the cold and wealthy friend of Ava's older brother, sometimes I get hooked on the vibe of couples of different classes, I guess it depends on the mood, these characters are totally opposite and have to live together and, without wanting to, they begin to discover feelings and tensions that were hidden there. The story flows well, thanks to the way the author writes, in an agile way but with details that touch your heart... it was a great success that the story was told by Ava and Alex, that way we understand what's up with each one without it feeling forced, we see both perspectives, do you understand?
Ava is a sweetheart, innocent and always looking on the bright side, while Alex is the typical mysterious and distant guy, a millionaire who seems to have already lived through it all, but his dark past feels real, not like those cheap clichés... or at least, not that much... but one thing I did like was how the author handles the relationship between them... the "brother's best friend" thing is overused in romance, but here they give it an interesting twist: they get closer because Ava's brother, Josh, goes on a year-long trip to Central America and leaves Alex in charge of her... At first, Alex only sees her as the little sister he has to take care of, but that changes little by little until the "hate" transforms into something much deeper and more protective... it's a slow, almost natural process that makes you think about how sometimes forced closeness shows you things about the heart that you never imagined.
>Hola a todos queridos amigos de Hive, una vez más quiero compartir mis opiniones en esta genial comunidad, en esta ocasión les hablaré un poco del libro: Twisted Love de Anna Juan, y bueno, ya sabía que me iba a meter en un viaje de emociones fuertes.. la idea central, es un romance entre Ava, una chica universitaria, fotógrafa y súper positiva, y Alex, el amigo frío y con dinero del hermano mayor de Ava, a mi a veces me engancha la onda de parejas de distintas clases, supongo e dependen del mood, estos personajes son totalmente opuestos y tienen que convivir y, sin querer queriendo, empiezan a descubrir sentimientos y tensiones que estaban ahí escondidas. La historia fluye de buena manera, gracias a cómo escribe la autora, una manera ágil pero con detalles que te llegan al corazón.. fue un gran acierto que la historia la contaran Ava y Alex, así entendemos qué onda con cada uno sin que se sienta forzado, vemos ambas perspectivas, ¿me entienden?
Ava es un amor, dulce, inocente y siempre viendo el lado bueno, mientras que Alex es el típico tipo misterioso y distante, millonario y que parece que ya vivió de todo, pero su pasado oscuro se siente real, no como esos clichés baratos.. o al menos, no tanto.. pero una cosa que si me gustó fue cómo la autora maneja la relación entre ellos.. lo de "el mejor amigo del hermano" es recontra usado en el romance, pero aquí le dan un giro interesante: se van acercando porque el hermano de Ava, Josh, se va de viaje un año a Centroamérica y deja a Alex a cargo de ella.. Alex al principio solo la ve como la hermanita que tiene que cuidar, pero eso va cambiando de a poquito hasta que el "odio" se transforma en algo mucho más profundo y protector.. es un proceso lento, casi natural, que te hace pensar en cómo a veces la cercanía obligada te muestra cosas del corazón que ni te imaginabas. ---  Image generated with FLUX. I liked seeing how, despite being so different, they both have that capacity to love and redeem themselves... for example, Alex's transformation is crazy, he goes from being a cold and distant guy to a super protective one, but at a level that borders on possessive! And that generates a debate, because there are moments when Alex says things like "if anyone gets close to Ava, they're going to pay dearly," and you start to think: how far is it love and when does it cross the line and become problematic and toxic? Sometimes it's really questionable... although the way the novel is written is elegant and captivates you, I felt that some emotional transitions happened too quickly, as if they were missing a little bit of cooking. There were moments when the relationship advanced in a forced way, especially when they wanted to show Alex's duality, you know? His cold and calculating side versus that almost paternal side that comes out when he takes care of Ava... that duality is interesting, yes, but I felt that they could have delved deeper into the internal problems of both characters to make them even more complete, another important point is how the author handles the "spicy romance", but with class! It's not like Wattpad, the story has its good dose of hot scenes and sexual tension, but it always feels like it is well written and cared for, with details that make reading better... I mean, the "spicy" goes hand in hand with the emotional development of the characters, this makes the book ideal for those looking for intense love stories with dark touches, but without going too far. >Otra cosa, los dos vienen con heridas del pasado, traumas que los marcaron a full, y lo loco es que eso mismo, su vulnerabilidad, es lo que los une, me gustó ver cómo, a pesar de ser tan distintos, los dos tienen esa capacidad de amar y de redimirse.. por ejemplo, la transformación de Alex es una locura, pasa de ser un tipo frío y distante a uno súper protector, pero a un nivel que roza lo posesivo! Y eso genera un debate, porque hay momentos en que Alex dice cosas como "si alguien se acerca a Ava, la va a pagar caro", y te pones a pensar: ¿hasta dónde es amor y cuándo se pasa de la raya y se vuelve problemático y tóxico? A veces es realmente cuestionable.. aunque la forma en la que está escrita la novela es elegante y te atrapa, sentí que algunas transiciones emocionales iban muy rápido, como que les faltaba un poquito de cocción, hubo momentos en que la relación avanzaba de manera forzada, sobre todo cuando querían mostrar esa dualidad de Alex, ¿sabes?
Su lado frío y calculador versus esa faceta casi paternal que le sale cuando cuida a Ava.. esa dualidad es interesante, sí, pero sentí que podían haber profundizado más en los problemas internos de ambos personajes para hacerlos aún más completos, otro punto importante es cómo la autora maneja el "spicy romance", ¡pero con clase! No es como Wattpad, la historia tiene su buena dosis de escenas hot y tensión sexual, pero siempre se siente que está bien escrita y cuidada, con detalles que hacen que la lectura sea mejor.. o sea, lo "picante" va de la mano con el desarrollo emocional de los personajes, esto hace que el libro sea ideal para los que buscan historias de amor intensas y con toques oscuros, pero sin que se vaya todo al extremo.. ---  Created with Canva Pro. It's one of those books that make you feel like you understand the characters, with their internal dramas and all, but at the same time you have a lot of fun with the crazy things that happen and the chemistry between them, which explodes little by little. If you like romance with a sexy touch, and an overprotective and attractive protagonist, you might like it a lot. It's ideal if you like when they show you both sides of the story, with moments of weakness but also of passion that almost gets out of control. It's a good start for a series that aims to explore more in depth the group of friends and the different faces of love in each book. The best of all is the vibe between Ava and Alex, how they go from ignoring each other to having a super strong connection and sometimes even problematic, although there are things in the story that could have been improved, the truth is that the way they tell you everything, so real, makes it difficult to put the book down once you start... if you're looking for a romance that gives you everything from laughter to drama, and that leaves you glued to the pages, give it a chance. Personally, I give it a **3.5 out of 5 stars**, because although there were moments that made me doubt a little, it's not horrible... I'm sure that younger girls could like it a lot... and well, that's it for today's review. Take care! Bye! >Esta mezcla de cosas típicas del romance – onda “el mejor amigo del hermano” y eso de estar juntos a la fuerza – con temas más profundos como el dolor del pasado, las ganas de cambiar y esa lucha por aceptar el amor, hacen que Twisted Love sea un libro que tiene sus problemas, cosas cuestionables, pero consigue engancharte de todas formas.. es de esos libros que te hacen sentir que entiendes a los personajes, con sus dramas internos y todo, pero al mismo tiempo te diviertes un montón con las cosas locas que pasan y la química que hay entre ellos, que explota de a poquito, si te gusta el romance con un toque sexy, y un protagonista sobreprotector y atractivo, puede que te guste mucho.. es ideal si te gusta cuando te muestran los dos lados de la historia, con momentos de debilidad pero también de pasión que casi se sale de control.. es un buen comienzo para una serie que pretende explorar más a fondo el grupo de amigos y las diferentes caras del amor en cada libro..
Lo mejor de todo es la onda entre Ava y Alex, cómo pasan de ignorarse a tener una conexión súper fuerte y a veces hasta problemática, aunque hay cositas en la historia que podrían haber mejorado, la verdad es que la forma en que te cuentan todo, tan real, hace que sea difícil soltar el libro una vez que empiezas.. si buscas un romance que te de desde risa hasta drama, y que te deje pegado a las páginas, dale una oportunidad. Yo, personalmente, le doy un **3,5 de 5** estrellas, porque aunque hubo momentos que me hicieron dudar un poco, no es horrible.. estoy seguro que a las chicas más jóvenes les podría gustar mucho.. y bueno, hasta aquí la reseña de hoy.
