I'm going to talk about a book I was really looking forward to, and I'll tell you my thoughts on: Wild Love by Elsie Silver... I just finished it, I mean, I literally devoured it in one or two days, and wow! Nothing really hooked me lately... but this one... it got me out of that funk, it had me from the first few pages, I swear I was laughing out loud and I couldn't stop underlining things like crazy... to start with, the humor in this book is the best! Rosie, the main character, has that sarcasm, that spark that I connected with right away... sometimes I feel like American humor just doesn't reach me the same way, but Rosie's, especially when she takes aim at Ford... felt super natural, really super funny. There were parts, like when they were emailing each other—oh my God, those emails!—where I was just in stitches. It's that back-and-forth game, those issues that feel so real, so entertaining. And the chemistry between Rosie and Ford is so great, on a high level. They've known each other their whole lives because Ford is her brother's best friend... so imagine, there's history, there's built-up stuff, and that tension that's there, like on the edge between hating each other and loving each other, or just super complicated feelings. He's your typical successful grump, and she's back in her small town, trying to find herself after getting out of a bad situation... watching how they cope, working together and dealing with all that stuff they haven't said to each other for years... it was addictive, I couldn't put it down. Plus, I'm a fan of when the guy falls in love first, and here with Ford, you totally feel that vibe! He has this weakness for Rosie that he tries to hide at all costs, and seeing that... is the best! >Hola a todos, amigos de Hive, espero que estén super bien, en esta ocasión, les quiero compartir a todos una nueva reseña, les hablaré de un libro al cual le tenía muchas ganas, les diré mis opiniones de: Wild Love de Elsie Silver.. lo acabo de terminar, o sea, me lo devoré, literal, en uno o dos días, y ¡wow! Últimamente nada me terminaba de enganchar.. pero este.. me sacó de una de ese bloqueo, me atrapó desde las primeras páginas, les juro que me reía a carcajadas y no paraba de subrayar cosas como loco.. para empezar, el humor de este libro es ¡lo máximo! Rosie, la prota, tiene ese sarcasmo, esa chispa con la que conecté al toque.. a veces siento que el humor gringo no me llega igual, pero el de Rosie, especialmente cuando se pica con Ford... se sintió súper natural, súper divertido de verdad. Había partes, como cuando se mandaban correos –¡Dios mío, esos correos!– que yo estaba atacada de la risa sola, es ese jueguito de tira y afloja, esos problemas que se sienten tan reales, tan entretenidas.
Y la química entre Rosie y Ford es genial, qué nivel, y es que se conocen de toda la vida porque Ford es el mejor amigo de su hermano.. así que imagínense, hay historia, hay rollos acumulados, y esa tensión que está ahí, como en el límite entre que se odian y se aman, o simplemente son sentimientos súper complicados. Él es el típico gruñón exitoso y ella está de vuelta en su pueblito, tratando de encontrarse después de salir de una situación feita.. ver cómo se las arreglan trabajando juntos y enfrentando todo eso que no se dijeron por años... fue adictivo, no podía soltarlo. Además, yo soy fanático de cuando el chico se enamora primero, y aquí con Ford, ¡totalmente sientes esa vibra! Tiene esa debilidad por Rosie que intenta disimular a toda costa, y ver eso.. es lo mejor! ---  Image generated with FLUX. Improved with KREA. --- Well, and then there’s the whole single dad thing, which, mind you, Elsie Silver gives it a super interesting twist here… it turns out Ford finds out he’s the father of a 12-year-old girl, Cora, but not because he had an affair in the past, no!, but because he donated sperm many years ago and boom!, he completely forgot. Cora looks for him when her adoptive father dies and her mom needs a hand… and honestly, I loved this twist; it felt different from the typical single dad thing and it added like… I don’t know, something different to Ford’s character and the whole story. Plus, Cora is great: she’s super witty, maybe a little sarcastic like Rosie –which might shock some people a little– but I thought she was adorable and she added a really good touch to the family dynamic that’s building. And I loved the way it was written, it flows easily, it grabs you, it goes a mile a minute when it needs to, but it also takes its time for those quieter, more connecting moments... the atmosphere of the small town, Rose Hill, feels really nice, familiar, but the story doesn't feel worn out or repetitive at all like small-town romances sometimes do. It felt fresh, mainly because of the characters and the particular situations they experience... I was hooked, I swear! I would stay up late reading because I needed to know what was next... This book does have its hot parts, with quite a bit of explicit content and off-color jokes... most of the time, I felt like it fit well with the tension between Rosie and Ford, but maybe there were a couple of unnecessary jokes that were a little too much for my taste. But the truth is, if that vibe isn't your thing, you can skip them super easily and nothing happens, it doesn't take away from the central story or the connection between them... maybe a little detail of the plot near the end seemed kind of unnecessary to me, like it was put there to add more drama, but the truth is, it didn't ruin the reading for me at all, it was more like a moment of saying "ah, well... ok". >Bueno, y después está el problema este del papá soltero, ¡que ojo!, Elsie Silver le da una vuelta súper interesante acá.. resulta que Ford se entera de que es papá de una chica de 12 años, Cora, pero no porque se mandó alguna aventura en el pasado, ¡no!, sino porque donó esperma hace muchos años y ¡pum!, se le olvidó por completo. Cora lo busca cuando su papá adoptivo fallece y su mamá necesita una mano.. y la verdad, me encantó esta vuelta de tuerca; se sintió diferente a lo típico de los papás solteros y le sumó como... no sé, algo distinto al personaje de Ford y a toda la historia, Cora, además, es genial: es súper ocurrente, quizás un poquito sarcástica como Rosie –que a algunos capaz les choque un poco– pero a mí me pareció adorable y le dio un toque buenísimo a la dinámica familiar que se va armando. Y la forma en que está escrito me encantó, fluye fácil, te atrapa, va a mil por hora cuando tiene que ser, pero también se toma su calma para esos momentos más tranquilos, más de conectar.. el ambiente del pueblito, Rose Hill, se siente re lindo, familiar, pero la historia no se siente para nada gastada o repetitiva como a veces pasa con los romances de pueblo chico.
Se sintió fresca, mucho por los personajes y las situaciones particulares que viven.. yo estaba metido, ¡les juro!, me quedaba leyendo hasta tardísimo porque necesitaba saber qué seguía.. Este libro sí tiene sus partes hot, en, bastante contenido explícito y chistes subidos de tono.. la mayoría de las veces, sentí que encajaba bien con la tensión entre Rosie y Ford, pero capaz hubo un par de chistes medio innecesarios que para mi gusto fueron un poquito "demasiado". Pero la verdad, si esa onda no te va, te las saltas súper fácil y no pasa nada, no le quita mérito a la historia central ni a la conexión entre ellos.. quizás un detallito de la trama casi al final me pareció medio innecesario, como puesto ahí para meterle más drama, pero la verdad, no me arruinó la lectura para nada, fue más bien un momento de decir "ah, bueno... ok". ---  Created with Canva Pro. It made me laugh like crazy, it made me sigh, it made me feel everything! It has that little heart, the humor, the passion... everything. If you like small-town romance, that grumpy guy/super-cheerful girl vibe, the brother's best friend cliché, single dad stories (with a twist!), or you're just looking for a book with incredible chemistry and characters you truly care about, you have to read it! I'm serious. And you know what the best part is? You can easily read it without having read Elsie Silver's other series, the Chestnut Springs one... this book works perfectly on its own, everything is understandable, yes, I give it **5/5**. It exceeded my expectations, it got me out of my reading block and left me with that super nice, super warm feeling in my heart, the one you get after finishing a romance that was truly great... perfect for imagining beautiful stories and recommending them... and well, that's all for today, we'll see you in the next reviews, take care! Tiene ese corazoncito, el humor, la pasión... todo, si a ustedes les gusta el romance de pueblito chico, esa onda del tipo gruñón con la chica súper alegre, el cliché del mejor amigo del hermano, las historias de papás solteros (¡con una vuelta de tuerca!), o simplemente buscan un libro con una química increíble y personajes con los que de verdad te encariñas, ¡tienen que leerlo! En serio se los digo. ¿Y saben qué es lo mejor? Que lo pueden leer tranquilamente sin haber leído la otra serie de Elsie Silver, la de Chestnut Springs.. este libro funciona perfecto por sí solo, se entiende todo, qsí que sí, le doy **5/5**. Superó lo que esperaba, me sacó del bloqueo lector y me dejó con esa sensación súper linda, súper calentita en el corazón, esa que te queda después de terminar un romance que de verdad estuvo buenísimo.. perfecto para imaginar historias bonitas y recomendarlas.. y bueno, eso es todo por hoy, nos veremos en las próximas reseñas, cuidense mucho!
