I've lived in coastal states all my life, but not necessarily near beaches. To get there, you have to take a short trip through the mountains—and I'm referring more to Aragua than to the capital district. I remember when I was five years old, my mom had a concert in the town of Choroní, so they took us on that trip and we stopped by the beach. It was supposedly the first time I'd seen the ocean, and I was so scared I didn't even want to dip my toes in the water. However, this was actually my brother's first time, and it turns out my first time at the beach was many years before, when I was just learning to take my first steps... I don't remember that trip at all, but these photos I'm sharing with you today confirm it.

Recuerdo que a los cinco años mi mamá tenía un concierto en el pueblo de Choroní, así que nos llevaron a ese viaje y pasaron por la playa. Era la supuesta primera vez que yo veía el mar, y sentí tanto miedo que ni siquiera quería mojar mis pies en la orilla. Sin embargo, realmente esta fue la primera vez de mi hermano, y es que resulta que mi primera vez en la playa fue muchos años antes, cuando yo a penas aprendía a dar mis primeros pasos... No recuerdo ese viaje para nada, pero estas fotos que les comparto hoy lo confirman.
These photographs are not of good quality, and they're preserved in our oldest family album. They're few, but they capture the excitement of that first family trip, before my brother was born. The place is my mother's homeland, Coro, Falcón State, so I'm deeply rooted in that area of the country, even though we lived in the center of the country. My parents not only took me to the Vela de Coro, but also to the Dunes, and the funniest thing is that now, as an adult, I post about these places as if it were my first time visiting them. 🤣 I look at the photos and realize I connected with the desert from the very beginning, but I can't say the same about the ocean, since I cry in every picture... No, I don't remember this trip, but I do remember all the love I received from my parents and all the effort they made to make my childhood happy and normal; first for me, and then twice as much work when my brother arrived. It's too bad that one doesn't remember what one experienced at that age, but how good it is to live a life focused on living great moments with the people we love, all of that is recorded in the mind and soul... I think this has been one of my favorite #TBTs 🙏 Estas fotografías no tienen buena calidad, y están conservadas en nuestro álbum familiar más antiguo. Son pocas, pero reflejan la emoción de ese primer viaje en familia, cuando aún no existía mi hermano. El lugar es la tierra de mi mamá, Coro, Estado Falcón, así que tengo sangre de esa zona del país, aunque nuestra vida la hicimos en el centro. Mis papás no solo me llevaron a la Vela de Coro, sino también a los Médanos, y lo más gracioso es que yo ahora de adulto publico sobre estos lugares como si fuera la primera vez que los visito 🤣 Veo las fotos y me doy cuenta que conecté con el desierto desde el inicio, pero no puedo decir lo mismo del mar, ya que salgo llorando en cada imagen... No, no recuerdo este viaje, pero sí recuerdo todo el amor que recibí de mis padres y todo el esfuerzo que hacían para que mi infancia fuera feliz y normal; primero para mí, y luego el doble del trabajo cuando llegó mi hermano. Que mal que uno no recuerde lo que vivió a esa edad, pero qué bueno es vivir una vida enfocado en vivir grandes momentos con las personas que amamos, todo eso queda registrado en la mente y el alma... Creo que este ha sido una de mis #TBT preferidos 🙏
