Another #TBT Thursday! And today I feel inspired to write, motivated by Facebook itself, which somehow has a habit of collecting events from the past and sharing them so we can remember them. Thanks to this, I realized that our friend Allixon, my wife's best friend, left Venezuela nine years ago. We were at the airport to say goodbye to him at the time. It was a very emotional day, because every time we say goodbye to a Venezuelan who is emigrating, we hardly ever see them again... However, in this case, life has been kinder to all of us. We never ran into him while he was living in Argentina, but now that he is in Madrid, we have had the pleasure of meeting him more than once.

Y hoy me siento inspirado a escribir motivado por el mismo facebook, que de alguna manera tiene la costumbre de recolectar eventos del pasado y compartirlos para que los recordemos. Gracias a ello me he dado cuenta que nuestro amigo Allixon, el mejor amigo de mi esposa, se fue de Venezuela hace nueve años ya. Estuvimos en el aeropuerto para despedirlo en ese entonces, fue un día muy emotivo, y es que cada vez que despedimos a un venezolano que va a migrar difícilmente lo volvemos a ver... Sin embargo, en este caso, la vida ha sido más amable con todos nosotros. Nunca coincidimos con él mientras vivió en Argentina, pero ahora que está en Madrid, hemos tenido el placer de encontrarnos más de una vez.
Last year, our choir toured several cities in Spain, and at that time it was very nice to see him again after so many years—I think it had been seven years. My wife is happy, and when she meets him, I have no choice but to become the official photographer 😅. Then, when we return, we always have that beautiful moment when we visit his mother in Caracas to give her everything he needs to send from there. It is very emotional for me to know that there are so many mothers and children who have been forced to separate, and in fact, over the years, we have been luckier than his own mother in being able to meet up and spend at least a few hours together. >El año pasado nuestra agrupación coral tuvo una gira por varias ciudades de España, y en ese entonces fue muy grato volver a verle luego de tantos años, creo que en ese entonces habían pasado siete años. Mi esposa está feliz, cuando se encuentra con él no me queda más remedio que convertirme en el fotógrafo oficial 😅 y luego, cuando regresamos siempre tenemos ese hermoso momento en que vamos a visitar a su madre en Caracas para hacerle llegar todo lo que él necesita enviar desde allá. Para mí es algo muy emotivo saber que hay tantas madres y hijos que se han tenido que separar obligatoriamente, y de hecho, en tantos años, hemos tenido más suerte que su propia mamá para encontrarnos al menos para compartir unas horas.
I think the only significant difference is the extra pounds 😂 and that we are becoming more mature in terms of life and age, but these gatherings increase the affection we all have for each other. This last time in Madrid was a bit complicated for my wife and her friend; I remember that I had many hours to enjoy the city, but she arrived practically at midnight, and Allixon had to work at six in the morning. I thought they wouldn't make it, but their affection for each other meant that they waited, met up, hugged each other, and together with the others, we had a great time and one of the best nights of our year. I never thought I would have friends who lived so far away and that it would be normal to meet up at least once a year. For me, this is another of the many blessings that life has given me 🙏 >Creo que la única diferencia importante son los kilos de más 😂 y que cada vez estamos más maduros respecto a la vida y la edad, pero estos encuentros aumentan el cariño que nos tenemos todos. Esta última vez en Madrid fue un poco complicado para mi esposa y su amigo; recuerdo que yo tuve muchas horas para disfrutar la ciudad, pero ella llegó prácticamente a media noche, y Allixon tenía que trabajar a las seis de la mañana. Pensé que no lo lograrían, pero el cariño que se tiene hizo que se esperaran, se encontraran, se abrazaran y que junto a los demás pasemos un gran momento y una de las mejores noches de nuestro año. Nunca pensé que tendría amigos que vivieran tan lejos y que fuera normal encontrarnos al menos una vez al año, para mí, esta es otra de las muchas bendiciones que me ha regalado la vida 🙏
