Greetings to all lovers of architecture and design at Hive! It's been a while since I visited this community, and strangely enough, I hadn't had the opportunity to discover new places that made a big impact on me. I think the last quarter has been a bit more routine, and I've mainly connected with nature and music, but here I am, to share a little bit of my appreciation for a place that, although not new in my life, captured my attention from the first time I saw it.
¡Un saludo para todos los amantes de la Arquitectura y el Diseño de Hive!. Tenía tiempo sin visitar esta comunidad, y es que extrañamente no había tenido la oportunidad de conocer lugares nuevos que causaran un gran impacto en mí; creo que el último trimestre ha sido un poco más rutinario y he conectado principalmente con la naturaleza a demás de la música, pero aquí estoy, para compartir un poco mi apreciación por un lugar, que aunque no es nuevo en mi vida capturó mi atención desde la primera vez que lo conocí.
This is the Unicentro Shopping Center in my hometown of Maracay, a very beautiful place in terms of its architecture, located on Casanova Godoy Avenue, and strangely right next to another popular shopping center, the Hyper Jumbo. It may not have as impressive a facade as can be seen in the first photos, but inside it is a magical place with two different atmospheres. I would dare to say that it is U-shaped, or perhaps more like a trident, since upon entering there are two main courtyards, one on the right and one on the left. In the center there is a row of restaurants where you can sit and eat inside or outside; of course, with the heat of our city, eating outside is ideal in the evenings.
Se trata del Centro Comercial Unicentro en mi ciudad natal Maracay, un lugar muy hermoso respecto a su arquitectura ubicado en la Avenida Casanova Godoy, y extrañamente justo al lado de otro popular centro comercial, el Hyper Jumbo. Puede que no tenga una fachada tan impresionante como se puede apreciar en las primeras fotos, pero dentro es un lugar mágico con dos ambientes. Me atrevería a decir que tiene forma de U, o quizás más bien como un tridente, ya que al entrar hay dos patios principales, uno a la derecha y uno a la izquierda. En el centro hay una hilera de restaurantes donde puedes sentarte a comer dentro o fuera de ellos; claro que con el calor de nuestra ciudad para comer afuera es ideal en las noches.
When you enter the central part of the mall, that's where you can really appreciate the stores and the coolness of the air conditioning 😅 It has a large central corridor, perfect for sharing decorations and for the two central escalators that take you to the upper floor. Regarding the latter, the upper floor leads to the two side wings, which, as I mentioned before, give the shopping center a U-shape or trident shape, as they form the edge of the two central courtyards. The entire shopping center is a mix of cool areas provided by air conditioning and warm areas on the outskirts. I think how much you enjoy the facilities depends on how you feel at the time.
Al entrar a la parte central del fondo es donde realmente se pueden apreciar las tiendas y la frescura del aire acondicionado 😅 Tiene un pasillo central grande, perfecto para compartir decoraciones y para las dos escaleras eléctricas centrales que te llevan al piso superior. Respecto a esto último, el piso de arriba te lleva a las dos alas laterales, que como indiqué antes hacen que la forma del centro comercial sea de U o de Tridente, ya que son el borde de los dos patios centrales. Todo el centro comercial es una mezcla de lugares frescos proporcionado por los aires acondicionados o zonas cálidas en las afueras, creo que el disfrute de las instalaciones depende de como te sientas en ese momento.
The floor of the shopping center is made of granite and is surprisingly polished, something that stands out with the white lights and all the display cases on the lower floor, making everything shine for visitors. On the upper floor, you can see a colorful carpet that dances with a large window to the north, where the Unicentro logo is located, and behind it, the beautiful green mountains of northern Aragua State in Venezuela. I remember that day I went out to the upper side corridors to take pictures of the other wing of the shopping center, and they turned out beautiful. That day the sky was perfectly blue and many clouds lay to the north over the mountain range. Whoever thought of this design had a lot of potential in terms of vision.
El piso del centro comercial es de granito y está sorprendentemente pulido, algo que destaca con las luces blancas y todas las vitrinas del piso de abajo, hace que todo sea brillante para el visitante. El el piso de arriba sí se puede apreciar una colorida alfombra que al norte danza con una gran ventana donde está el logo del Unicentro y detrás de ella las hermosas montañas verdes del norte del Estado Aragua en Venezuela. Recuerdo que ese día salí a los pasillos superiores laterales para tomar fotografías de la otra ala del centro comercial, y salieron hermosas, ese día el cielo estaba perfectamente azul y muchas nubes se recostaban en el norte sobre la cadena montañosa, quien pensó en este diseño tenía mucho potencial en cuanto a visión.
This is a very special place that I recommend everyone visit and enjoy. A few days ago, I went with a good friend from Hive who hadn't been there yet, and I hope she returns. I don't think it's a very large shopping center, but it stands out for its beauty. Its architecture is something I feel I haven't perfectly captured with these humble photos, but I would still love for you to venture out and discover it for yourselves. Este es un lugar muy especial que recomiendo a todos que vayan a visitarlo y pasar un buen rato. Hace unos días fue con una buena amiga de aquí de Hive que no lo conocía aún, y espero que regrese. Creo que no es un centro comercial tan grande, pero destaca por su belleza, tiene una arquitectura que siento que no he resaltado a perfección con estas humildes fotos, pero igual me encantaría que se atrevan a conocerlo. Me despido dejándoles algunas imágenes más, especialmente del área de jardines que se puede apreciar si entras por la entrada principal.
