Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when Gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles under the right ruleset or summoner. 4 star brawls are rough as the teams tend to be stronger. I am still in the gold league gold foil matches, and it wasn't so great this time around.
Brawl Result
I chose the gold foil modern Brawl and got 4 wins. This time, there were 2 free wins from guilds that didn't submit people. My rewards for the brawl were 3,190 merits and 53.248 SPS in the 4-star category. My guild ranked 7th place out of the 8 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all its spots, and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. I did decent, but my guild didn't do so great either.

There were 5 that I lost So, I included an idea of the match below and a few thoughts about it.
You can find the first match here. I won this match because I had the stronger lineup. I thought I would lose, but it looks like focusing on higher damage monsters worked out. I wasn't that fast, but it worked out in the end for me as the damage added up.
You can find the second match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. It's hard to win any matches against Yodin Zaku.
You can find the third match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. My opponent had Quora and Katrelba Gobson so it was an uphill battle.
You can find the fourth match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. My opponent had the level advantage, its hard to beat those strong-hitting monsters.
You can find the fifth match here. I won this match because I had the stronger lineup. My summoner and his summoner kind of cancelled out, but I won because I had that void monster. It gave me enough time for my lifeleech monster to stack up more health. After that, my ranged monster dealt their damage.
Conclusion
Doing 8 fights for 3,190 merits and 53.248 SPS is a good reward for the effort. I did better this time around, and my guild did just as badly. We did have inactive people in the brawl spots, but too many guilds submitted their matches. Brawls are tough, and there wasn't too much I could do against my opponent when most of them had a level advantage. I am glad to see the free wins and the actual wins from fights.
