Yesterday, I went to Dangwa Building at the office of our Project Engineer to consult about our upcoming project when I noticed the painting along the way. I was curious about Dangwa Bus. So, I try to research it. It was then started with Bado Dangwa, a young man from Kapangan, Benguet who loved fixing vehicles. Back in the late 1920s, with the help of an American teacher, he bought a few broken trucks, repaired them, and started bringing people and goods from the Cordillera to Manila. His business grew fast and before World War II, he already had over 170 buses on the road.
But now, I am seeing just few bus of dangwa. Since, And I believe Dangwa is a part of local history, culture, and even romance, thanks to its connection with flowers.
