Our beloved municipality through the municipal agriculture and farmers committee conducted a competition in creating a dish garden. As one of the presenter, we all emphasize that agriculture is the basic necessity and the lifeline of a nation. With every dish garden presented by each participants, they keep on highlighting that the diah garden symbolizes unity, tradition and culture and histoey of wach barangay.
This dish garden shows the life and livelihood of the people of our community. The taro plant is our One Town One Product (OTOP), and our community is one of the top producers of taro or known as AVA. Adu mabalin nga luto ti Ava. We can cook ava in traditional way or any menu we want.
In short, taro itself or ava is means of survival for every family so.in our community every household they plant ava.
Our community also is known as producer of fruits. Cacao farms, rambutan farm, dragin fruit, lemon farm, palay and corn farm and crop farms are present in our community.
Aside from these, somw farmers are engage in cut flower farming which add beauty and income to our community.
We can see a lot of nipa hut or bahay kubo in far flung areas which we used as camp or "Pandansuan".
Overall, the dish garden symbilizes resiliency, unity and connection of our humble community.
The dish garden stands for our strength and resilience—we may face challenges, but we continue to grow and provide. The small bahay kubo represents our simple rural life where farming is at the heart of who we are. This dish garden is more than decoration; it tells the story of our community blessed with taro, fruit bearing trees, standing crops and root crops products and cut flowers.
We, our community is united through agriculture.
