It's Chibi time~

I have been creating chibis for a while now, and getting used to it already, hihi~

In this article, I will be sharing how I made this chibi for @dennnmarc! Through the process, I will also share how we knew of each other and how we built our friendship.

A little back story with Denden

Few months ago, I just knew Den by just his username because it is easy to remember. His name is very common, not really that complicated, and easy to get familiarized. It is an advantage though because people will be know with you right away.

I always read his articles on other crypto-earning blog platforms. I find his style of writing very good. He expressed every sentence with feelings. I then decided to sponsor him because of this reason.

I knew of Den more when I joined HivePH Discord. Oh, a familiar name I thought. Yeah, this is the good writer.

He is a very chill person. He gets along in jokes and bardagulans in the server. I thought he was a conservative type of person because that is how I feel about him in his blogs. Yeah, blogs are deceiving after all, just kidding!

References

I asked Den to send me his references for his chibi. He sent me his picture and a hairstyle. Well, technically I can not use his face because my chibis have the same features, haha.

I provided the clothing because he said that he cannot think of any clothing. So in this case, I chose simple blue long sleeves and a lighter blue for the inner shirt. I added a pocket too.

Line art

Den’s request is very simple. Actually this is a rush art because he was jelly of others having a chibi as their avatar in the server. Also, I want him to be happy. I told him to send his references right away and I will do it after dinner.

The hairstyle is very easy to copy, thank God. The clothing is just a simple, generic, long sleeve.

Flat colors

The hair color is black. I want to suggest other colors such as green or purple but I think it will not suit Den’s taste. A navy blue and a light blue color compliments each other for the clothing.

Details

For details, I added the shadow in the face. The color is a little bit darker compared to the skin color. I added the shine of the hair, just two lines and a dot. I choose the color orange for the blush because orange and blue goes together. If you look at the color wheel, they are the exact opposite of each other.

Background and final art!

I took a little bit time whenever I am in the background process. It is hard to find a nice color to compliment everything in the chibi. I chose a dark green and then a minty green for the lines.

Conclusion

Tadaaa~ I am done! The whole process from concept to sending to Den took me about 30 mins.

Den’s style is very simple. He did not pressure me in making this at all. I appreciate that he understood that I can only make this chibi on my free time. Over all, I enjoyed making this for him!
