Today I woke up early as usual, and by about 5:30 AM I had already drunk a cup of delicious hot coffee and fed our pets... I had several things to do in the morning; but without thinking too much about it, I grabbed my camera and went for a walk... Obviously, I left messages asking my daughter and wife to take care of outstanding payments, a delivery to clients (we sell dairy products), and other necessary things...
Hoy desperté temprano como siempre, y ya a eso de las 5:30 AM ya había bebido una tasa de delicioso café caliente y dado de comer a nuestras mascotas... Tenía varios asuntos que atender en la mañana; pero sin pensarlo demasiado, tomé ni cámara y me fui a deambular... Obviamente, dejé escritos mensajes pidiendo a mi hija y a mi esposa que fuesen ellas quienes se encargasen de pagos pendientes, una entrega a clientes (vendemos productos lácteos) y otras cosas necesaria de hacer...
I walked north and soon left the paved streets of the town behind, finding myself along a wide road that wound through valleys whose lands were used for farming and livestock... The fog seemed to envelop everything, and instinctively I turned onto an old, little-used path lined with wire fences and small groves of trees... There, I caught my first glimpses of the sun, barely perceptible through the dense fog. The feeling of isolation was magnificent in that place, and despite hearing a few sounds, like the lowing of a cow, the barking of a dog, or even the voice of a farmer beginning his work, the fog seemed to envelop me in a furtive and taciturn solitude...
Caminé hacia el Norte y pronto dejé atrás las calles asfaltadas del pueblo y me encontré a mi mismo avanzando por un camino amplio el cual avanza dentro de valles cuyas tierras están destinadas a la siembra y la ganadería... La niebla parecía cubrirlo todo, e instintivamente me desvié hacia un viejo y poco transitado sendero cuyos lados están llenos de alambradas y pequeñas arboledas... Allí en aquel lugar, tuve los primeros atisbos del disco solar apenas perceptible a través de la niebla densa... La sensación de aislamiento es magnífica en ese lugar, y a pesar de escuchar algunos ruidos como el mugir de alguna vaca, el ladrido de un perro o incluso la vos de algún campesino comenzando a faenar; la niebla parecía envolverme en soledad furtiva y taciturna...
Then the fog began to evaporate under the warmth of the sun's rays, and whimsically, bucolic and visually magical scenes began to appear... Taking photos here and under these conditions is initially challenging. But after taking a few shots and adjusting the camera settings to achieve better results, you end up acting instinctively, capturing every bit of light, every wisp of fog, both near and far, until everything is clear enough to see the landscapes clearly, even the distant mountains... But that's another story, which I promise to tell you another day...
Luego la niebla comenzó a ser evaporada por el calor de los rayos solares, y caprichosamente comenzaron a aparecer algunas escenas bucólicas y también visualmente mágicas... Hacer fotos aquí y bajo estas condiciones ambientales es al principio algo desafiante. Pero poco después de hacer algunas fotos y lidiar con los parámetros de la cámara en aras de lograr mejores resultados; uno termina actuando instintivamente y aprovechando cada luz, cada niebla, lo cercano y lo lejano por igual y así hasta que todo está suficientemente claro como para ver los paisajes ya con claridad, incluso las montañas lejanas... Pero eso es ya otra historia, la cual les contaré otro día, lo prometo...

ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL NOTE: Photographs captured with my Nikon D7000 DSLR camera in RAW format, then processed in Adobe Camera RAW for adjustments regarding light, sharpening, contrast and depth... They were then exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape v3.7
NOTA TÉCNICA ADICIONAL: Fotografias capturadas con mi cámara DSLR Nikon D7000 en formato RAW, procesadas posteriormente en Adobe Camera RAW para ajustes relativos a luz, afilado, contraste y profundidad... Luego fueron exportadas a formato JGP sobre el cual se llevaron a cabo modificaciones menores como enderezado y agregado de marcas de agua usando PhotoScape v3.7
