It is said that some certain people come into your life for a particular reason. That, once their work is done they leave but if not so, they continue to be in your life to build, remold and reform our lives.
I believe this and I could say this particular man is just serving that purpose in my life. When it comes to always being there for someone both, spiritually, financially, emotional and otherwise. I would say he is just the perfect definition of it, he wasn't my family member from start. He was just a friend to a family member, yes we choose our family by choice. I added him in the family-friend zone, I know his family, he knows mine and we continue to bond that way.
This is not a lovers relationship but a relationship that has been of so much benefit for me from the start.
In my country, we jokingly call them "Destiny helpers" I could also term him that.
Growing up, I learnt to be reserved and be by myself, I believe that only I can help myself with my family exception but I hardly share lots of things with my family too. I lock everything inside me and fight to deal with most challenges alone.... though not practically relying on one person. I mean, I am not alone in the world, so most times the friends I make help me in one way or the other.
But I hardly open up to them totally, I was always careful and distancing.
These things changed when I met him, I was comfortable and began to speak up, I shared my troubles and joy.
This helped me in so many ways and he was always there for me. One could argue that he is my brother.
He was that one person I could rely on and be safe, that one person that could defend and correct my when I am wrong.
I began to build myself and through him there are positive changes in my life.
Like I first mentioned before about someone coming into your life for a purpose. The purpose was established, I truly appreciate and would never forget that important role he played in my life.
A great inspiration and motivation in my life.
