One of my students posted a video on Facebook happily bathe at a certain river with his friends. An intrusive thoughts came in that I should visit the place as soon as possible. I don't know if it's good or not to have this kind of behavior that whenever I think of something that wanna do or wanted to buy or crave for, I'll go for it then I'll be relieved after. A satisfying moment even tons of sweat came out yet it's the most epic one. Good thing when I messaged my student to accompany me he didn't hesitate to guide me.

Hello everyone! Today I'm gonna show you to one of the gems here in our countryside. Come and have fun with me as I unveil the beauty of nature in one of the gems of north, the TUNA-AN FALLS. Let's go!

It's Monday morning as we agreed with my student to meet at the landmark going to San Jose. I was riding with my husband since he's going to work already. I just dropped myself at the landmark, I waited for about 2 minutes but I'd like to walk. So here, I walked for about a kilometer and half before he picked me up.

As soon as we arrived at nearby the river where the only choice is to walk. Now, it seems familiar to me. I told my student that it's this place where I and Mikay hiked a year ago. But since there's no direction before and don't know the place still we were able to arrived safely.

We have taken other path compare before. Now it's clear and safe because one of the locals guide me here. Almost everyday people used to use this path to reach the river.

Along the path, we were greeted by a cow and a dog barking like if it were no tomorrow. But it didn't scare me at all since I too have dogs at home. I know how to handle them.
I feel like we were near as I hear a gushing sounds of river. My heart pumping with excitement and joy!

Oh. How lovely the river is! I can't wait to see the rest of them!

TUNA-AN FALLS
##

Tuna-an Falls is located at San Jose, Borbon, Cebu. It hids on the remote as area of this place. **Tuna-an** means a secluded area with water where carabao used to *"tuna"* or dip in to the water after a long day of plowing a piece of land. Here in Philippines, our traditional plowing machine is this carabao and a certain metal that allows to plow the land ready to plant seedlings. But now, there are various types of machines to amplify the needs in the farm.

This is the starting point of the falls where farmers used to go dip of their carabaos after plowing. Now, it has been remained calm and still as it was abandoned by farmers. I guess they stopped from plowing as I have observed while walking. And according to my student, it's a long time since there's no carabao dipping here, that's why they (people) get to enjoy the river.

I, too enjoyed a lot of the falls. I can't get off my shoes but my hands are sure enough to touch it and feel its coldness and it's so refreshing. This is what I truly like. Indulge myself with the nature and discover it myself.

The cascading flow of water reminds me of the river that we had once visited in Sab-a, it really looks like one.

Since the first day of our uninterrupted vacation, it's only today I get to enjoy my hiking because we are all busy in life but I really crave for this so I include this on my list. My hiking buddies weren't able to come with me due to some errands as well. But sooner or later we'll be making another hiking journey as soon as possible.

I and my student decided to go down the falls and followed the river itself. A steep and slippery path made this journey challenging, this is what I like in hiking where I encounter obstacles. If there's someone caught my struggles in crossing the river, then, I'm like a Spider-Woman🤣. Another that this journey more challenging was the dried leaves. You know what I mean if you're into hiking😅.

And now we reached another part of the river where there's bigger falls yet small water falls. Since May is dry season so we weren't able to catch bigger falls then. Now, the falls shows nice falling water since it's raining almost everyday, as of this writing.

As we head home, I saw some Madre de Agua vibrantly showing off and I can't help but to ask some of this because I'm a hog raiser, of course I know how to use it. Thank God that the owner of the plant didn't hesitate to give me for FREE! He gave me a bundle of joy and adviced me to plant the stalks for it is easy to grow.
Not just a time for myself but a time to discover with nature. There are some areas are waiting to be explore and enjoy God's creation. I never just enjoy myself with nature but seeing the other aspects of life in local. Thanks to Madre fe Agua, I was able to chitchat with "kuya" how their livelihood going, how they were able to sustain life away from civilization, and others. Life is hard but life must hustle.
That's it for today hivers. Hope you enjoy my nature trip. Thanks for reading. Have a nice day! Toodles 🥰😉🙏.
