Hello to all my @hivegarden friends
Hope you like my garden update today. Im really happy to share how our eggplants are growing we now have two varieties in our small backyard: one is round and the other is long. Both are thriving beautifully, and it is been such a joy to take care of them and harvests their fruits.

The eggplant is one of the most popular and versatile vegetables to grow. It belongs to the Solanaceae family the same family as tomatoes and peppers. What i love most about eggplants is how easy they are to grow and how well they adapt to our tropical climate. With the right amount of sunlightswater and a little care 😊😊 they reward you generously with healthy and delicious fruits..
Our round eggplant variety looks really unique. It is short plump and shiny almost like a small bell pepper but in a deep rich purple color. When i hold one it feels firm and heavy filled with thick meaty flesh. This variety has a denser texture than the long ones which makes it perfect for dishes like eggplant omelet (tortang talong), adobong talong, or stirfried eggplant with garlic and tomatoes. Every time i pick one cant help but admire its beautiful glossy skin and round shape it is so satisfying to see 👌

The long eggplant variety on the other hand is the classic type we often see in local markets. It has a smooth, deep violet skin and grows slender and elegant. These are perfect for traditional dishes like pinakbet sinigang or grilled eggplant served with soy sauce vinegar and chili a simple but delicious Filipino favorite. When freshly picked they shine under the sunlight and feel firm to the touch. It iss amazing to see how many fruits each plant can produce once it is healthy and well taken care of..

What i truly enjoy most about gardening is watching the plants grow day by day. From the moment i first saw their tiny purple flowers bloom to the time the fruits began to appear it has been such a beautiful and rewarding experience. Every morning i love walking around the garden and seeing how much they have grown. The leaves sway gently in the breeze and the sight of purple fruits peeking through the green leaves always makes me smile.

Harvest time is the most exciting part picking fresh eggplants feels like collecting small treasures that nature has gifted us. The round ones look cute and chubby while the long ones hang gracefully like ornaments on the plant. Sometimes i joke that our eggplants must be “super healthy” because they are growing so thick and shiny..

Having both the round and long varieties makes our garden even more colorful and interesting. It is amazing how two kinds of the same vegetable can look and taste a bit different yet both are equally delicious and rewarding to grow. Gardening really teaches patience, care and appreciation for nature’s small miracles.
The best part sharing our fresh harvest with family and neighbors straight from the garden to the kitchen nothing beats the taste of vegetables you have grown with your own hands and a lot of love.. 🌿💜
