I have driven past the scenic sign on State Highway 6 in Greymouth that leads to Rotary Platform Lookout several times without taking a detour to checkout the scenic Lookout.
Last week, I arrived in Greymouth, where I spent the night from Westport earlier than I could check into my motel. I went for a short walk but the track was very wet so, it was a walk I couldn't complete.
Next I took a drive to the Rotary Platform Lookout, as the opportunity presented itself. It was a steep drive up there, I had to stay in second gear ⚙️ 😅. I am one of the few of my colleagues that drives manual so, the New Zealand steep roads drives me nuts at times.
The weather wasn't so great, very windy, it had poured heavily and still rained later that day but I was able to get a view of Greymouth from the Lookout.
