Here’s the drawing that started me off drawing again after a 10 year break. I’ll include photos of different stages to show you how I go about my business.
Firstly I get down outlines and start shading in parts I feel like shading. It’s all about feeling. I particularly like eyes and prominent shadows.
Also leaving white space on the paper is as good as shading so I try to let the unshaded spots do half the work.
Lips are another favourite of mine. Lots of shadows to play with there with the creases.
