Let's get stoked about: Friends
Today I want to make the argument that Friends is the greatest show ever produced... nah, it's friendships. I think even the most asocial person would agree that it's important to have relationships that you cherish. It's those relationships that we carve out of life that make it worth living, and that also shape who we are as a person.
There's different types of friends; casual, close, best and worst. They're all important, and all have a role to play. Developing relationships is why going to school is so important, by allowing us to develop our social skills and understand other people. Don't get me wrong, I hated school and think the education system is broken, but what we get out of those experiences is far more valuable.
Having close friends is important, both for our health and self-esteem. Finding those kindred spirits can be one of the greatest feelings in life, someone to share things with and challenge each other with. After all, which is better? Seeing a sunset, or sharing a sunset with someone you care about?
I think it's a common experience to start to lose touch with people in your twenties, and throughout your life, but you never really lose touch with a true friend. It may be months or even years between meets, but things never change. Those are the friendships that we all need to cherish, and sometimes it's all too easy to take them for granted.
So, let's all take some time today to appreciate those that mean the most to us, heck let's do it everyday because we only get so much time on this spinning ball of rock. Who are you grateful for? Let me know what you think down in the comments, and I'll see you there. As always, make sure to follow me for the latest Technology, Internet and Pop Culture updates, plus a little bit of positivity from time to time. Until next time, be excellent to each other!
