🚜 Early Days on the Farm: Cassava and Guinea Corn Growing Side by Side

Have you ever wondered what it feels like to have two different crops grow together in perfect harmony without one stressing the other? Well, that has been the case on one of my farms where I could cultivate two highly distinct crops together comfortably without one affecting the other.

When the two crops are a perfect match to each other without any struggle for nutrients, water, and space, then there's a lot that the two crops can give each other in the long run.

You need a lot of information and knowledge about each crop before taking any step, as it will give you a natural understanding of the requirements to harmonize each crop with the others.

Now why do you think I made the choice of planting guinea corn and cassava together ☘️🌱

Both naturally grow upright, which makes it easier for the two crops to manage the space in between without any form of encroachment. Space is a very important factor in agriculture; it determines whether the crop you've sown will be able to spread out freely or not. Some crops do better with a lot of space.

Secondly, their life spans differ, and you wouldn’t want a situation where harvesting one crop leads to trampling on the other.

Have you tried something like this and how were you able to accomplish success?

How do you plan your harvest to avoid damaging one crop while collecting another?
