When you think you’ve seen it all as a farmer, I encourage you to take a closer look. Farmers can engage in many practices that may initially seem impossible. 🤔🌾
Every year, I find myself doing things I never thought I would. However, the circumstances I face often compel me to tap into my creative abilities and put them into action. 💡
I am open to trying new approaches, especially when I feel limited in my options. Land is definitely one of those constraints. 🌍
The areas around me are known for their fertile soils ideal for farming, but the rapid expansion of civilization has led to the proliferation of buildings, which has deprived many farmers of access to the best agricultural land. 🏗️
Lands that have been used for farming for generations have been converted into factories and housing developments. 🏡
While we have benefited from this growth, we still need to feed ourselves and the world. To achieve this, we must come up with creative solutions. 🍽️
Previously, the spaces between the ridges we cultivate were never considered suitable for planting because they served as pathways for moving around the farm. Depending on how the land is cultivated, these pathways can occupy more space than the ridges themselves. 🚜
One day, I thought, why not plant something in those spaces that still allows us to easily pass through without damaging the crops? This way, we can maximize our yield by utilizing every inch of our land. 🌱
Planting potatoes in between the ridges has been a decision I don’t regret at all. It’s turned out to be a way to “kill two birds with one stone.” 🥔✨
