> **Have you ever been in a situation where you feel like getting rid of your goats or other livestock cause of the damage they are causing to your farm?**  Keeping livestock is a beautiful thing until I began struggling to keep them under control due to certain reasons. Normally, the goats are not meant to be moving around, bearing in mind that we have farms close by, but the feed cost means my hands are tied, and my options are obviously few.  ---  **🌱 The only option I have right now is to let my goats out occasionally to fend for themselves. But every time I do that, I end up placing my maize farm at the mercy of these hungry animals. They see the tender green leaves as an easy meal, and in no time, the damage shows. It’s a tough choice either I keep them locked up and struggle with feed, or I let them roam and risk losing a good portion of my maize yield.** ## 📉 Counting the Losses: The damaging impact of this so far Every bite they take may look small at first, but once it is done repeatedly, the damage will eventually be obvious. At times, the maize loses its strength, and the overall growth size slows down.  ---  ## 🌽 How does it affect the yield? You will eventually lose a lot if no solution is put in place in time to control this For me, this has meant a direct cut in yield even before the crops reach maturity. The effort, time, and cost put into this shouldn't be put to waste.
