One of the things I love about crocheting is how every order brings a new challenge, a new story, and a new chance to create something special. Recently, I was asked by one of my loyal customers to make something I had always wanted to try—a crochet rose bouquet blanket.
This customer has been very supportive of my crochet journey. In fact, this is already his 4th order from me. His first two orders were crochet flower bouquets, followed by a crochet bag that I also shared [here](https://peakd.com/hive-127911/@jonalyn2020/rose-bouquet-bag-commission-a-painful-but-joyful-crochet-journey). This time, he requested something grand—a 4 feet diameter (48 inches) crochet rose bouquet blanket, complete with red roses. He also wanted me to include two rose coasters to go along with it.
When I received his request, I was both excited and nervous. I had already seen the trending rose bouquet blankets online, and I admired how beautiful they looked. I wanted to make one for myself, but I never had the chance because of my busy schedule fulfilling other orders. This time, since someone specifically ordered it, I finally had the perfect reason to bring the design to life.

To start the project, I ordered Monaco undyed cotton yarn for the blanket’s body. For the flowers and leaves, I used 5-ply Monaco mercerized cotton yarn—red for the roses and green for the leaves. I followed a pattern I found on YouTube. Interestingly, many tutorials there showed similar styles, which gave me the confidence to proceed with the project.

As much as I wanted to finish quickly, the process wasn’t easy. Crocheting such a large blanket meant long hours of work. At some point, I even felt numbness in my right arm, from my wrist up to my whole arm, but I pushed through. I reminded myself that every stitch was worth it, especially since this blanket would turn into something meaningful for my customer.

Once I finished the body part of the blanket, I moved on to the leaves, which added a lively contrast. But my excitement peaked when I started making the red roses. They were the highlight of the project and gave the blanket its bouquet-like charm.

However, since the roses took more time to complete, I decided to pause and make the two rose coasters first. Each coaster has its pot, which will resemble potted rose plants when the coasters are rolled and placed inside the pot.

They were faster to finish, and when I sent an update to my customer, he was delighted with the result.

Finally, after four days of continuous crocheting, I completed the blanket. When I laid it out, I couldn’t help but smile at the outcome. The roses bloomed beautifully across the blanket, and it truly looked like a giant bouquet of red roses. I felt so happy and proud to finally create something I had only dreamed of before.

This order reminded me why I love crocheting so much. It’s not just about the yarn or the stitches—it’s about turning an idea into reality, creating something with patience and love, and making people happy through handmade art. And for me, that makes all the effort worth it.
With love and yarn,
