It has been a long minute since my last update. 30240 minutes to be exact. It seems like forever! Not so much really has been going on with the poor start. But finally some are growing, and enjoying the nutes that when at the seedling stage was just a little to much. On top of the overload of nutes, the weather just has been absolute shit the past month. When the sun comes out it is a little weird since I am used to the overcast days. But the last few days the sun has been shining, helping for the plants to grow out of the awkward stage. Let's take a look!

I will start off with the one that is the worst out of all of them, the Yellow Watermelon. This is one that I threw into the dirt at a younger stage then the Pumpkins, which forsure did not like the nutrient rich soil. Only now after the 21 days is it showing signs of new growth.

I was starting to worry since all the other start's were gifted to my sister who lives further down south to me. Then the other one I put in the ground was eaten by a bird.

Now off to the Pumpkins that finally have started to look good.

You can see they are actually do very well! If only I had not bought that cheap soil with the slow release fertilizer. They would be doing so much better at this point, and only now would they required a good feeding. At least I did not lose any to any more birds, or snails. The only issue I have is making sure they grow outside of the garden plot so I can plant some more.

This one was growing towards the Yellow Watermelon.

So I used a stake to change the direction of the main shoot. This will allow it to grow out, and unimpeded.

IMG_9961.jpg?width=840&height=630

This one was growing towards the middle of the garden.

So I turned it around to go out to the outside left.

This one was growing to the outside left, so I turned it around so it would not interfere with the other Big Max Pumpkin. As you can see it will grow outside of the garden plot.

It has been pretty dry lately, and the grass has been dying off. Which will work out perfect once the pumpkins start growing out. I will make sure I burn this side when I weed-eat, just to ensure the pumpkin vines have nothing to compete with.

My Onions have also suffered the same fate as the pumpkins, but I think it may be the colder weather that got these. Only 1 of these was planted in the same soil, and yes it has done horrible! In fact worse then the other 3 that I just used reg dirt.

Can you spot which one was planted in the soil with the slow release fertilizer? Yeap, the one on the bottom left would be it. I even planted that one in the dirt a whole week before the other 3.

IMG_9802.jpg?width=840&height=630

Last is the garlic. Something that has had zero issues the grow season.

IMG_9800.jpg?width=840&height=630

These are almost ready. A couple weeks back I cut off the scapes to allow more energy for the bulbs.

IMG_9804.jpg?width=840&height=630

I also loosened up the soil around them to allow for more growth. Let's hope this poor ass soil is not an issue.

IMG_9963.jpg?width=840&height=630

Well that is it. Still have to fill up the plot, which I have not had any motivation lately. Besides the weather will be getting nicer soon, and it would be a better time to plant. Although I won't do much from seed besides the Glass Corn. So stay tuned, hopefully I will have more to show sooner then the 21 days that has past since the last update. :)
