The Cosmic “Eye of Sauron”.

What they have seen is located 7.4 billion light years away and also in time, the light they have captured came out of that Blazar that is exactly called PKS 1424+240, when the material that formed the Earth and ourselves was only a cloud of gas and dust in space, there was still a long way to go before it would concentrate and form the sun and the planets.

Sauron's eye is not new, it has been puzzling astronomers for years because it turns out that it is the brightest neutrino emitter in the universe, it was identified by the IceCube neutrino observatory in Antarctica, the image above is the one they have managed to create now and that is news, a highly precise image of what it is pointing at us.

Sauron's eye has some strange features, for example his radio jet, which seemed to move slowly, things that contradict the expectations and calculations of current physics, there are things here that didn't fit well and still don't fit, they will have to find an explanation. Verbatim one of the researchers said, to give you an idea of ​​how amazed they were, "We have never seen anything like it, a toroidal magnetic field, almost perfect, with a jet that points directly towards us," is a Blazar.

What is a Blazar? And above all, why is it targeting us? A Blazar is a supermassive black hole located in the center of a galaxy that is active, that is, it is devouring matter, gas clouds, planets, stars, a pizza, whatever, whatever they throw at it, in this process, the matter that is in its environment falls in a spiral, reaching enormous energies and speeds and producing relativistic, extreme effects, the very fabric of space-time is twisted and in that process an energy jet or jet can be generated.

If the jet points towards us it is called Blazar and if it points in another direction it is called Quasar. Why is it pointing towards us? Well, by pure chance, we are just a tiny mosquito compared to Sauron's eye, and luckily we are 7,500 million light years away. If we were closer, just a few million light years, we would be dead.

The key to this research, apart from some physical questions that do not fit and that have to be answered, is that this research demonstrates that this toroidal structure plays a key role in the launch and collimation of the plasma flow, which could be essential to accelerate particles to extreme energies. This is interesting because if we ever manage to create fusion reactors that reach energies worthy of the "dark" lord, we may have to use this type of structures.
