Desde que soltaron la bomba de que Solo Leveling iba a tener anime, todo el mundo se volvió loco, el hype estaba por las nubes. El manhwa ya era religión entre los fans del género, así que la presión estaba fuerte. Todos queríamos ver a Sung Jin-Woo repartiendo una buena dosis de puños en full HD, y no cualquier estudio podía cargar con este proyecto.

Thanks Ever since they dropped the bombshell that Solo Leveling was going to have an anime, everyone went crazy, the hype was through the roof. The manhwa was already religion among fans of the genre, so the pressure was on. We all wanted to see Sung Jin-Woo delivering a good dose of fisticuffs in full HD, and not just any studio could carry this project.

Temporada 1:

A ver, la primera temporada de Solo Leveling es básicamente el tutorial más épico que te puede tirar una serie. Te pone en un mundo donde los cazadores se la juegan contra monstruos que salen de portales, como si la vida no fuera ya suficientemente complicada, ¿no? jajaja.

Lo que de verdad me enganchó fue el ritmo. Ni te atropella ni te deja bostezando. Todo va como en ascenso, sin saltarse pasos, y cada movimiento de Jin-Woo se siente importante. Esa Mazmorra Doble… uff, pesadilla total, el punto donde el chico pasa de ser el saco de boxeo a casi morir, aquí es donde obtiene un raro sistema y gracias a él y un apartado dentro del mismo llamado misión diaria, empieza a sacar músculo (metafórico y literal). Y ya el clímax con Igris… ahí sí que me tuve que agarrar de la silla. Espectáculo al límite, cero descanso.

La animación, es simplemente genial. Si te gusto el manhwa, te digo que lo que hicieron aquí es casi un calco, pero la animación le da un x1000. Los golpes, los movimientos, la coreografía... cada pelea es como un videoclip de adrenalina. Ver a Jin-Woo soltando sus nuevas skills es un espectáculo puro, fanservice bien hecho.

Y ojo. La trama de los personajes también está bien trabajada. Jin-Woo se lleva el foco, claro, pero no es sólo “mira qué fuerte me pongo”, sino que ves cómo le cambia el coco jeje, cómo le pesa la responsabilidad. No se cortan con las muertes ni con mostrar que este mundo es una carnicería. Eso le mete una dosis de realidad que, sinceramente, agradezco. Aquí las victorias saben a sudor, sangre y alguna que otra lágrima. No es solo fantasía, también te pega algún que otro puñetazo al corazón. Y sí, eso lo hace muchísimo mejor.

Season 1: Let's see, the first season of Solo Leveling is basically the most epic tutorial a series can throw at you. It puts you in a world where hunters are pitted against monsters coming out of portals, as if life wasn't complicated enough already, right? hahaha.

What really hooked me was the pacing. It neither runs you over nor leaves you yawning. Everything goes sort of uphill, without skipping steps, and Jin-Woo's every move feels important. That Double Dungeon... uff, total nightmare, the point where the boy goes from being the punching bag to almost dying, here is where he gets a rare system and thanks to him and a section within it called daily mission, he starts to pull muscle (metaphorical and literal). And the climax with Igris... I really had to hold on to my chair. Show to the limit, zero rest.

The animation is simply great. If you liked the manhwa, I tell you that what they did here is almost a copy, but the animation gives it a x1000. The punches, the moves, the choreography... every fight is like an adrenaline video clip. Watching Jin-Woo unleashing his new skills is pure spectacle, fanservice done right.

And watch out. The plot of the characters is also well worked. Jin-Woo gets the spotlight, of course, but it's not just “look how strong I get”, but you see how his mind changes hehe, how the responsibility weighs on him. They don't cut corners with the deaths or with showing that this world is a butcher's shop. That gives him a dose of reality,that I sincerely appreciate. Here, victories taste like sweat, blood and a few tears. It's not just fantasy, it also punches you in the heart. And yes, that makes it all the better.

Temporada 2:

Si pensabas que la primera temporada ya era una locura, espera a ver la segunda. De verdad, la animación se fue hasta la estratósfera. Las peleas… Ufff!!. La batalla contra la hormiga negra es de esas escenas que te dejan con la mandíbula en el piso. Pura adrenalina, puro frenesí, y encima ves cómo Jinwoo ya no es el tipo tímido que conociste. El tipo se mueve, reparte, y cada ataque te hace apretar los puños de la emoción.

Lo de los portales y las incursiones, genial. Que si ahora se vuelven rojos, que si suben de nivel, que si aparecen monstruos más locos todavía… La serie te tira un plot twist uno tras otro y nunca pierde el ritmo. Y ese sistema de portales es como si estuvieras jugando un RPG, pero sin el estrés de farmear horas y horas. Cada episodio te deja con ganas de ver cuál será el próximo jefe final que Jin-Woo tendrá que partirle la cara.

Pero, ojo, no todo es golpear bichos y coleccionar sombras. Esta temporada mete el turbo con la historia personal: Jin-Woo buscando a toda costa salvar a su madre. Ese toque le da corazón a todo el despelote de peleas. Cuando ves al tipo pelear, no es solo por volverse OP, sino por algo que vale la pena. Cada vez que avanza un paso para curar a su mamá, uno siente que también gana. Sufres y te emocionas.

Y el final… uff. No quedas como que no debía terminar ni nada por el estilo, pero sí te dejan con ese saborcito de “necesito la siguiente temporada YA”. Cerraron bien las historias más importantes, le dieron su merecido peso a las decisiones de Jin-Woo y lo dejaron como el capo indiscutible. Pero ni creas que todo está resuelto; el universo de Solo Leveling sigue creciendo y quedan varias bombas por explotar. En resumen: temporada redonda, te deja satisfecho pero con hambre de más. ¿A poco no quieres ver ya qué se le viene encima al bueno de Jin-Woo?

Season 2: If you thought the first season was already insane, wait until you see the second season. Really, the animation went into the stratosphere. The fights... Ufff!!!. The battle against the black ant is one of those scenes that leave you with your jaw on the floor. Pure adrenaline, pure frenzy, and on top of that you see how Jinwoo is no longer the shy guy you knew. The guy moves, he delivers, and every attack makes you clench your fists with excitement.

The portals and raids, great. What if now they turn red, what if they level up, what if even crazier monsters appear... The series throws you one plot twist after another and never misses a beat. And that portal system is like you're playing an RPG, but without the stress of farming for hours on end. Each episode leaves you eager to see what the next final boss Jin-Woo will have to smash his face in will be.

But, beware, it's not all about hitting bugs and collecting shadows. This season turbocharges with the personal story: Jin-Woo looking to save his mother at all costs. That touch gives heart to the whole mess of fights. When you see the guy fight, it's not just to become OP, but for something worthwhile. Every time he takes a step forward to heal his mom, you feel like you win too. You suffer and you get excited.

And the ending... uff. You're not left feeling like it wasn't supposed to end or anything, but you're left with that little taste of “I need the next season NOW”. They closed the most important stories well, gave Jin-Woo's decisions their due weight and left him as the undisputed boss. But don't even think that everything is solved; the Solo Leveling universe continues to grow and there are still several bombs to explode. In short: a rounded season, leaving you satisfied but hungry for more. Don't you want to see what's coming for good old Jin-Woo?
