I always have this big dream of riding a horse for a very long time now but I've never got the opportunity to do so not on till yesterday. After the Sunday service, a friend of mine invited me to his community. He told me he knows someone who has horses in his ranch.

I was very happy to know that I'm going to ride a horse but at the same time I was scared because I've never ride a horse before and I've heard stories of how horses throw down people if they don't know how to control it.
I think is normal though to feel a bit scared at the beginning..

I went to my friend side and he took me to the ranch. We went in and spoke with the instructor who is incharge of explaining and guiding first timers on how to ride a horse. Few minutes later while we were standing at the field waiting, I turned around and saw the instructor coming with a beautiful brown skin horse with white colour skin at the lower parts of his legs. It was so beautiful, that I could not stop staring at it.

The first thing I did was to approach the horse calming. I tried to establish a connection between me and the horse. The instructor told me to relaxed and that horses are sensible and can feel our emotions, so I should just feel comfortable on it and remain calm. He showed me how to get on the horse which I did.
Calming a horse for the first time feels somehow awkward to me. It requires you using little effort to swing your legs over and sit properly in the saddle.

The instructor lead the horse and was walking beside it to ensure my safety. He showed me how I could control the horse direction, how to gently tell the horse to move or stop. I was on it and was scared but at the same time feeling very excited, it was amazing. The feeling you get from moving on the horse is so amazing. It is not like sitting and driving a car. Here you are sitted on top of a life and you could feel yourself, your body moving side by side, right to left and back to right again especially when the horse is walking gently and slow.
As I continue to ride on it, the fear within me disappeared and for a moment I could see myself riding the horse with the instructor guiding the horse. It was indeed an unforgettable and memorable experience and I enjoyed every moment spend with the horse..
