Greetings everyone.
This is week #250, and I welcome everyone to my blog. This week, I will be sharing my thoughts on forgiveness.
I would love everyone to go through it, because this is a very important topic, which needs close attention.
What is forgiveness?
The word "forgiveness" refers to the act of letting go of the wrong things people have done to us. It is not something one can force you to do, but it's a decision, and a deliberate action you must take.
One, can not forgive when he doesn't have his reasons for doing that. He chose to forget about the grudges because he wants to stay focused.
When you forgive it doesn't mean you won't recall those things anymore, you will because you're a human. And humans don't forget easily.
Why should we forgive someone who doesn't deserve forgiveness? This is a very important question, and it's necessary to talk about it.
So many people have their reasons for forgiving someone who doesn't deserve their forgiveness. The reason is known to them. But I will be sharing my thoughts on this.
People forgive because of the following: (1) Freedom: This is one of the reasons people forgive those who don't deserve their forgiveness. Once you continue holding grudges against the person, your mind will continue to get hurt each time you see the person.
So forgiving him or her could give you an everlasting freedom you didn't expect. It could be freedom from sorrow, freedom from bitterness, etc. And you will notice that each time you see the person, you will smile.
(2) Peace of mind: This is the second point I want to talk about. Peace of mind supersedes everything. Without peace of mind, your life is at stake.
You will notice that if you have issues with someone, you could be forced to run every time the person passes by your compound.
So, to have peace of mind and get away from your fears, you need to reconcile with the person before forgiveness comes.
Should we always forgive?
This is the last question that was asked. It is a simple question, but hard to answer because people think differently.
Well, in my view, it's necessary to forgive those who have wronged us in one way or another. Mind you, some of them might not know they have hurt your feelings so badly.
So, it's good to forgive such a person. Remember! Even our Lord Jesus Christ forgives all our sins, no matter how bad they are.
So as humans, we must do the same. Aside from the biblical view, we should forgive those who wronged us so that our bodies, souls, and spirits can be healed.
Remember, when you hold grudges you're hurt, and you need something to heal you. Nothing else would heal you, aside from forgiveness.
In conclusion, learn to forgive even when the person doesn't deserve it.
Thank you for your time.
