I want to deliberate on the topic parents safeguard your offspring wherever they go.
We live in a community where parents would send their offspring to school alone, without making sure their safety is guaranteed.
There are days I pass by some offspring on the road at the ages of four, five, six, and sometimes seven years old going to school alone.
One of the seven-year-olds would be backing one of the four-year-olds, while holding one of the five and six-year-olds, all by herself.
How do you expect them to cross the road at that age? I could still recall my mom taking me to school.
Any day she was busy, she would ask an elderly person to help me cross the road to my school.
But this is something most parents do not do for their children. They feel comfortable leaving them alone on the road.
We all know some dangers could happen to children when they're walking alone, rather than walking with someone.
At that age that I mentioned, if something eventually happened to them, do you think they would be able to defend themselves?
Likewise, we, who have gone to school, cross the road every day, and we could as well predict certain dangers on the road if we're observant enough.
Like I used to tell people, never cease to observe things and people while walking on the road. Even when you board a taxi, be vigilant. Something terrible happened yesterday in one of the states in Nigeria.
A lady was seen in the community moving forward and backward as if something fell from her bag. According to the reporter, she was so serious about it.
But as God may have it, a certain set of people began to observe her movement closely. So as she was moving about, a small boy was on his way to school alone in an area where people do not really live except for a few people.
So as the innocent boy was just passing by, she followed him until she held him in her hands.
Immediately she achieved her aim, she changed her walking steps. She began to move faster than she had earlier.
So when she noticed that people were paying close attention to what she was doing, she took the boy in her hands, then backed him.
While she was trying to brake a bike which would take her to her destination, those guys caught her. They asked her if she was the mother of the boy, and she said yes.
They told her, they knew the child's face very well, though they couldn't recall who his parents were. So as time went on, they discovered she wanted to kidnap the boy.
I love the fact that she was thoroughly beaten to the point that her face turned pink, and I was satisfied..
Please, parents, this post is for you. Always follow your children to school, never let them go anywhere by themselves, because the world is bad and more corrupt than we could ever imagine.
