Hi lovelies, happy Monday to you all. I'm so excited to see this day, and I'm glad to see you too. Today has been a good day for me, because I preached the word of God to the people.
The word of God is sweeter than honey, and it makes sense each time I'm closer to my maker by studying his word.
When you study his word, you get to know more about his nature, and what he needs from you.
The theme for this month in our church is Becoming an agent of transformation. And I've heard a lot about it, and my life has changed.
So a week before last, I was told by my pastor to go and prepare so that I would be preaching today. I wasn't excited about it, but yet, I had to go back home and pray about it.
A few days passed by and I didn't have any topic in mind to preach. So the next day I went to church to ask my pastor certain questions in the bible.
When I arrived there, I saw him, and he attended to my questions. So while he was still attending to my questions, I got a topic for my message.
I've been hearing people say something
I've been hearing people say that God gives them topics for their messages, but it does sound strange to me. But I can attest to it now, that what they said was very true.
So when I returned home, I prepared the message as I was instructed. So today was the day, and God honoured himself.
I taught on the topic "Transformation and its purposes. I started by telling them that transformation in the Christian context refers to spiritual renewal and moral change, brought about by God in a person's life through the work of the holy spirit.
I took my text from Romans 12:2, which says: Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may prove what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Purposes of transformation
(1) To conform believers to the image of Christ ( Romans 8:29) It says that God predestined us to conform to the image of his son, to be called firstborn.
But to add to that, transformation enables Christians to reflect Christ's character in their words, actions, and thoughts.
(2) To renew our minds(Romans 12:2) It talks about not confirming to the world.Transformation changes the believer's way of thinking from worldly patterns to Godly perspectives.
(3) To produce the fruits of the spirit (Galatians 5:22-23)It talks about the fruits of the spirit. Transformation allows God's spirit to cultivate love, joy, peace, and other virtues in a believer.
(4) To demonstrate God's power to the world. God indeed transforms people to use them and demonstrate his power to the world (Matthew 5:16).It says Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your father which is in heaven.
Examples of people God transformed out of the purpose he had for them.
(1) Prophet Ezekiel ( Ezekiel 2:1-10) (2) Prophet Jeremiah ( Jeremiah 1:5-10) (3) Joseph.
In conclusion, God is still transforming many who will carry out his purposes on earth. And if you're aware that you've been chosen, please do something about it.
