The hive community is a platform where users are being rewarded for sharing their views, opinions and make contributions. Hive is a community just like every other social media sites. But the centralized social media (web 2) tends to extract value from it's users. Furthermore, hive believes and ensures that it's users should receive the benefits and earn rewards for their opinions, thoughts, views and contributions they make on the platform.
On the other hand, Centralized social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, is being owned and controlled by a single company. This company stores your data, decide what you can post, gives terms and conditions to adhere, and can shut down your account at any time if you go against or violates their rules. This is more reason why hive has been a better platform for earning rewards through posting, commenting, and sharing your thoughts and views to the public.
One of the most significant differences between hive platform and other centralized social media handles is that the hive blockchain offers consecutive feed. This means that users see posts in sequence order when they are published, without an algorithm deciding what to show them. So in all, I will say that the hive block chain is way more better than the centralized social media handles because users in hive have more control over their personal data, as it is not stored in a single corporate database.
